Oh, wow. Fic.

Jul 27, 2009 20:38

So. I did that thing where you listen to ten songs and write a fic for the length of each song. Here they are. Lyrics are after the story (drabble, really) if you're interested. All are PG.

Title: Celui que j'etais- Emmanuel Moire
Pairing: Shawn/Lassiter

Shawn Spencer had been a lot of things in his lifetime. He'd also done a lot of things, but this...this he'd never done before. He'd never fallen head-over-heels in love. And here he was, on the dancefloor at his wedding dancing his first dance as a married man. He felt a kiss being placed on his hair and looked up into the blue eyes of Carlton Lassiter.

Of all the things that Shawn Spencer had been, this was the first time he was truly happy.

Celui que j'etais
Emmanuel Moire

Ce n'était pas moi
C'était un autre
Qui me ressemblait

On fait des choix
On fait des fautes
Pas de regrets

Tout n'est qu'une histoire
De cailloux que l'on sème
De savoir où aller

Et d'être soi-même
Laisser derrière soi
Les rêves que l'on traîne
Un avenir tout droit
Pour être soi-même
Savoir où l'on va
Celui que j'étais
Je le laisse derrière moi

Ce que l'on devient
Ce qu'on attend
Tout reste à faire

On a chacun
Des rêves d'enfants
À satisfaire

Il n'y a pas de hasard
Les cailloux que l'on sème
Font que tôt ou tard

On devient soi-même
Laisser derrière soi
Les rêves que l'on traîne
Les avenirs tout droits
Pour être soi-même
Savoir où l'on va
Celui que j'étais
Je le laisse derrière moi

Pour faire mon chemin
Chercher un endroit
Pas à pas

Devenir quelqu'un
En trouvant ma voie
Pas à pas

Ce n'était pas moi
C'était un autre
Qui me ressemblait

On a en soi
Toujours un autre
Qu'on attendait

Tout n'est qu'une histoire
De cailloux que l'on sème
Il n'y a pas de hasard

Pour être soi-même
Laisser derrière soi
Les rêves que l'on traîne
Les avenirs tout droits
Pour être soi-même
Savoir où l'on va
Celui que l'on est

Je laisse derrière moi
Les rêves que je traîne
Les avenirs tout droits
Derrière moi
Savoir où je vais
Laisser derrière moi
Celui que j'étais
Que j'étais
Que j'étais.

English translation (rough):

It was not me
It was another
Who resembled me

We make choices
We make mistakes
No regrets

Everything's without history
Pebbles you've sown
To know where to go

And to be oneself
Leave behind
The dreams that are lagging
The right future
To be oneself
Know where you are going
That which I was
I leave behind me

What you get
What is expected
Everything else is done

We each
Have a child's dream
To satisfy

There is no chance
The pebbles you've sown
Are that sooner or later

One becomes self -
Leave behind
The dreams that are lagging
The right future
To be oneself
Know where you are going
That which I was
I leave behind me

To make my way
Search for place
Step by step

Becoming someone
Finding my way
Step by step

It was not me
It was another
Who resembled me

It was in itself
Always another
Who waited

Everything's just
Pebbles you've sown
There is no chance

To be oneself
Leave behind
The dreams that are lagging
The right future
To be oneself
Know where you are going
That which one is

I leave behind me
The dreams that I troll
The right future
Behind me
Know where I go
Leave me behind
That which I was
I was
I was.

(it's much prettier in French, n'est pas?)

Title: Chariot-Gretchen Wilson
Pairing: Dean/Castiel

Dean and Castiel stood on a hilltop overlooking the grounds where the final fucking battle for humanity would occur.

"What's the first thing you're gonna do when this is all over?" Dean asked, turning to face his angel.

"I believe I will purchase an automobile- a Trans Am, I believe is the type Jimmy desires."

"Seriously?"

"Yes, Dean. Seriously."

"What for? I mean, you're leaving when this is all over, right?"

"The car is so that I may better fit in."

"Fit in...does that mean what I think it means."

"Yes, Dean. After the war I will remain on Earth with you and your brother."

"Oh. Cool."

Chariot
Gretchen Wilson

When it's all over but the shoutin'
When God the Father's done his final accounting
And I find out that I made the cut
Boys i'm gonna get me a chariot
Yeah a big gold eagle on the hood
Trans Am chariot

Gonna find my great granddaddy
That peace pipe smokin' Cherokee
Gonna get him all schooled
In them mags and struts
Then we gonna drag us a chariot
Yeah a big gold eagle painted on the hood chariot

[CHORUS]

Good lord Witchita
Sure hope Samson ain't no law dog
Redneck you better out run him
Damn sure don't wanna get caught
Crime what crime
We was all hopped up on new wine
And mama's gonna kill me if I get
Kicked out of the choir
But you just gotta run them chariots

[RAP]

Now here's a little story happened long ago
One day Ezekiel went out for a stroll
Walkin' by the river low and behold
Down came 4 angels in a Cadillac gold
He said "swing down sweet chariot come on and give me a ride"
So they scooped em up, the rig was souped up, man it had TV's inside
Ol' Zeke was surprised cause his eyes had seen beyond
His wildest dreams, He'd go on to see a thousand things

We'll paint that number eight on the driver's side
That's how old I was when I gave Jesus my life
I stepped right up and got washed in the blood
Just a little kid singin' 'bout a chariot

[REPEAT CHORUS TWICE]

When it's all over but the shoutin'...

Title: Break It Down-DX
Pairing: Brian/Dom

Brian was a degenerate. At least, that's what his father told him every chance he got. And really, it was true. Brian had never been able to prove his dad wrong- especially not after everything went down in L.A.. He didn't like people telling him what to do, what to wear, who to love.

Brian didn't like playing by the rules and that's why he was laying on a beach in Mexico with a Corona in one hand, a smile on his face, and a certain street racer by his side.

Break It Down
DX

Are you ready
Yeah, you think you can tell us what to do?
You think you can tell us what to wear?

D Generation X!
D Generation

You know who your talkin' to?

D Generation X
D generation

Break it down!

D Generation X
D Generation!

Title: In My Daughter's Eyes- Martina McBride
Pairing: Shawn/Lassiter

Not long after they'd gotten married, Shawn and Carlton had adopted a little girl. Whenever Carlton had had a tough day at the station dealing with rapists, murderers, thieves, whatever, he would go home and just hold her. Shawn would be cooking dinner and Carlton would sit Maggie on his lap and listen to her talk about the simple problems like Jimmy Rodriguez taking her juice and everything would reset itself.

In My Daughter's Eyes
Martina McBride

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and the
world is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me
strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her hand
around my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about

It's hangin' on when your heart
has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy
she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

Title: Lonesome- Montgomery Gentry
Pairing: Shawn/Lassiter

It had been three weeks since Shawn had just up and left Santa Barbara. No explanation, no nothing. Carlont woke up one morning to a half-empty bed, a missing toothbrush, and an absent motorcycle.

He'd been grumpier than usual since then. He snapped at Juliet over more trivial things than usual and today had made the mistake of snapping at the Chief. She'd sent him home, of course, and as soon as he was gone had started making some long-distance calls.

Three weeks and a day since Shawn had left, Carlton woke up to a fulle bed, two toothbrushes, and a motorcycle.

Lonesome
Montgomery Gentry

One coffee cup, one toothbrush
One set of keys, one car out in the drive
One half of the closet empty
One half of the bed cold at night
One of us just up and disappeared
That only leaves one of us 'round here

Lonesome
Can drive a man insane
Lonesome
It's the sad part of the game
Win some, lose some
Lonesome

One man and one woman
One too many cold and bitter fights
One high powered lawyer later
One piece of paper they want me to sign
The hand she used to hold picks up the pen
And all at once reality sets in

Lonesome
Can drive a man insane
Lonesome
It's the sad part of the game
Win some, lose some
Lonesome

Lonesome
Lonesome
Lonesome

Title: See Me, Feel Me/Listening to You- The Who
Pairing: Perry/Harry

Harry had come to L.A. with nothing. No cash, next-to-no clothes, just his name and what turned out to be a fake screen test.

Then he met Perry. Perry who liked to point out all of Harry's flaws, who really saw Harry. To Perry he wasn't a nameless face. He was an idiot-- a loveable, charming, sexy idiot who had great hands.

The first time Perry had admitted to himself that he was falling in love with Harry was New Year's Eve. Harmony had just managed to crush Harry's heart without a word and Perry had to pick up the pieces. Seeing Harry curled up in a crying, snotty ball on his white leather couch and not being able to bring himself to be angry about it was a big moment for Perry. Beause rather than anger, he felt heartbreak for Harry. And for the first time, Perry reached out and hugged Harry while he sobbed. Because at that moment, Harry just needed something other than pain to feel.

Perry would never tell Harry this, but one of his favourite things to do was listen to the other man sing. Oftentimes Perry would stop short in the doorway to the house and just listen. Harry liked to sing while he filled out paperwork or while he cooked--something he was getting to be very good at. It was these moments that Perry valued most.

See Me, Feel Me/Listening to You
The Who

See me , feel me , touch me , heal me (2X)

Listen to you I get the music
Gazing at you I get the heat
Following you I climb the mountain
I get excitement at your feet !
Right behind you I see the millions
On you I see the glory
From you I get opinions
From you I get the story

See me , feel me , tough me , heal me (2X)

Right behind you I see the millions
On you I get the glory
From you I get opinions
From you I get the story
Listening to you I get the music
Gazing at you I get the heat
Following you I climb the mountain
I get exitement at your feet

Listening to you I get the music
Gazing at you I get the heat
Following you I climb the mountain
I get exitement at your feet
Right behind you I see the millions
On you I get the glory
From you I get opinions
From you I get the story

Title: Someday My Prince Will Come- Disney
Pairing: John/Rodney

John Sheppard was, for all intents and purposes, the crown prince of Atlantis. The city loved him, the people loved him. He was truly royalty.

From the first time Rodney saw him, he knew that John would always be his Prince.

Some Day My Prince Will Come
Disney

Some day my prince will come
Some day we'll meet again
And away to his castle we'll go
To be happy forever I know

Some day when spring is here
We'll find our love anew
And the birds will sing
And wedding bells will ring
Some day when my dreams come true

Title: Rodeo or Mexico- Garth Brooks
Pairing: Brian/Dom

There was a rodeo race in Waco, but Dom was itching for Mexico. Being so close to the border and not crossing was killing him. So he fished a quarter out from his pocket and flipped it. The next thing he saw was an open stretch of road and signs in Spanish.

He wound up in some dinky little town's dinky little bar. That's where he ran right smack into a beautiful, familiar set of blue-green eyes and blonde hair.

He and Brian spent the night making up for lost time. After his seventh cerveza, Brian had convinced Dom to come back to his apartment. After his sixth gulp of tequila, Brian comvinced Dom to come to bed. Two hours later, Brian convinced Dom to stay.

Rodeo or Mexico
Garth Brooks

For a change
I headed South
Across the border
For the pesos and
A different horse to ride
I'd be back to make
The rodeo in Waco
But that was long
Before I saw them
Dark brown eyes
With long black hair and
English bad and broken
Her body said the words
She couldn't find
As I hung on every word
She left unspoken
The question started
Leaning on my mind

[CHORUS:]

Rodeo or Mexico
They both can keep
A cowboy satisfied
Rodeo or Mexico
The only way
I know how to decide
Is just to get on and ride

We danced all night
Beneath that sheet of cotton
And you just don't
Tell a girl like that goodbye
But the cowboy life
Ain't easily forgotten
Though lying there
I couldn't help
But wonder why

[Repeat chorus]

The morning
Found the answer
Dawning on me
As I woke up to the
Sharp end of a knife
He was screaming at
The woman hanging on me
Does anybody know the
Spanish word for wife?

[Repeat chorus]

Title: Cold Shoulder- Garth Brooks
Pairing: Cam/Daniel (angsty)

Daniel drove past the apartment he used to share with Cam. The light was on and two figures danced in shilouette.

Not for the first time did Daneil regret letting Cam go without a fight.

Now, all he wanted was to have the pilot back in his arms. Daniel parked his car and got out.
He made it to the door before he knew it. He turned around just as quickly.

He couldn't-- wouldn't-- let Cam do this to him.

Cold Shoulder
Garth Brooks

There's a fire burning bright
At our house tonight
Slow music playing
And soft candlelight
On her lips I keep tasting
The warm red wine
I'm there in her arms
But it's all in my mind

The snow is piled high on the highway tonight
I'm a ship lost at sea on this ocean of white
Eighteen wheels anchored somewhere out of Dover
I wish I could hold her
Instead of huggin' this old cold shoulder

This old highway
Is like a woman sometimes
She can be your best friend
But she's the real jealous kind
She's the lady that leads me
To the life I dream of
She's the mistress that keeps me
From the ones that I love
The snow is piled high on the highway tonight
I'm a ship lost at sea on this ocean of white
Eighteen wheels anchored somewhere out of Dover
I wish I could hold her
Instead of huggin' this old cold shoulder
God, I wish I could hold her
Instead of huggin' this old cold shoulder

Title: You're Not Alone Tonight- Keith Urban
Pairing: Dean/Castiel

Dean had taken to heavy drinking after the war. Cas had died. Dean had watched him, helpless to stop it.

There were times-- times like now when he was pisser drunk-- that Dean felt like he wasn't alone.

He threw a fifty on the bar and started back to the no-tell motel he was staying at. Alone. He and Sam had split ways a few months after the final battle.

Dean stopped at the park a few blocks down. He took a seat on the nearest park bench and cast his gaze skyward.

"Damnit, Cas. I miss you."

And for just a moment, Dean could swear he felt his brand grow warm, like somebody had laid their hand on it in perfect alignment with the scar. Like Castiel used to do.

And for that moment, Dean knew he wasn't alone, not really.

You're Not Alone Tonight
Keith Urban

We all drink to forget
Some of us more than most
When reality gets too real
And the fires of hell to close
But I'm here to let you know that
That you can make it through
If you believe that someone is watchin' over you

And call it an angel
Call it a muse
And call it karma that you've got comin' to you
What's the difference
What's in name
What matters most is never ever losin' faith
'Cause it's gonna be alright
You're not alone tonight

We all have our days
When nothing goes as planned
Not a soul in the world
Seems to understand
And for someone to talk to
You'd give anything
Well go on and cry out loud
'Cause someone's listenin'

Yeah, and call it an angel
Call it a muse
And call it karma that you've got comin' to you
What's the difference
What's in name
What matters most is never ever losin' faith
'Cause it's gonna be alright
You're not alone tonight

Keep your faith alive
You're not the only one

Yeah, and call it an angel
Call it a muse
Call it karma that you've got comin' to you
What's the difference
What's in name
What matters most is never ever losin' faith
Yeah, you're gonna be alright
You're not alone tonight

Oh you can cry if you want to, go on
