for those of you who cant read it, a translation, and for no extra charge, a transliteration!

eli, eli
shelo yigamer l'olam
hachol v'chayam
rish-rush shel hamayim
b'rak hashamayim
t'flat ha'adam

oh lord, my god
i pray that these things never end
the sand and the sea
the rush of the waters
the crash of the heavens
the prayer of the soul

You thought you would be so cryptic... vokuro627 August 24 2005, 07:58:54 UTC
But you mustn't leave us goyim out of understanding this lovely poem/song!

"My God, My God
May these things never end:
The sand and the sea
The rustle of the water
The lightning in the sky
The prayer of man"

I didn't know what it said/meant, actually... I used a Hebrew dictionary and it gave definitions as like "pretty, beautiful, good, hard-working," but then had qualms about posting it when I didn't know its actual meaning, which is why I deleted it.

I should have known that I could never conceal a comment from you, and your obsessive checking thereof.

Haha, all this based on a comment which is no longer there and, when it was present, presumably no one else saw or understood it. Thus producing 2 additional comments and making me look redundant for posting the translation because I didn't refresh before entering it, when in fact there was no translation when I first looked at it.

Livejournal is silly.
