If you are having trouble with the side hip measurement, start by establishing the waist - corset front length(#10). The side hip measurement(#9) in generally 1.5"-2" shorter than the front length.
Once I receive your entire set of measurements I'll be able judge whether any of the measurements seem off. I have seen many waist-underbust measurements that are 6.5"-7". Remember that all body measurements and proportions are different from person to person.
Concerning reduction, both your waist and underbust(ribcage) measurements should be taken into consideration to determine the amount of reduction you should begin with. Again, once I receive all your measurements I will be able to help you more. In some cases 4" - 6" smaller than your waist is suitable but this a very general guideline and does not apply to all body types.
