Eeeek, I love this whole thing. I love the idea that Voldemort regularly does this kind of thing to keep his DEs (or just Severus) in line.

This is a great representation of the stark consequences that come from serving the Dark Lord.

This is haunting because of how believably you've presented it. I can absolutely envision Severus stooping to levels that he'd never condone to infiltrate the inner circle. I can also imagine the Dark Lord anticipating he would try and then exploiting Severus' vulnerability for amusement's sake.

This rings so right. I love the how you wrote Severus. It feels so IC to me that Severus would stand so straight and be unreadable still. Words are leaving me because this isn't a period in Severus' life that I often read but it's so well written. I am so happy that you decided to take part in our fest Mysterious Author.

ove the detailed narrative and dynamics of Voldemort's perception of Lucius versus is perception of Severus, and of course, I love it that he chooses Severus over Lucius to be so *intimate* with--the complexity of their relationship is so much more so that at the end with commanding Severus to his right, the unspoken understanding between them is so much more felt... Lovely work!
