A note from a friendly computer person anonymous April 24 2005, 18:56:45 UTC
Anyone in the world can read your journal as it is, anyone.
They do not even need a livejournal account.

Now I have my journal set up so that most of my postings are only
accessible to my 'trusted' friends group. This requires readers
to have a livejournal account and be in the proper group.

If you do not want certain people to read - learn how to use
permissions. It's easy and can prevent bullshit like this happening.

I'd also use the option that prevents anonymous posting on your
journal as well as the IP logging feature. I posted this note without
using my account.

LiveJournal is PUBLIC greymaus April 24 2005, 19:00:51 UTC
Umm.. Alex... LiveJournal isn't like your personal diary. It CAN be read by ANYONE.

But... there are ways, using your account options, to limit who can or cannot read what you write. I suggest that you check them out and use them. Otherwise, anyone and everyone will be able to read and comment on what you put down here.

I can't say for sure, but I don't think it was a matter of not knowing it was a public thing, but a matter of, "you shouldn't read it because you never cared about me before". I can relate.
