A thought occurred to me... Perhaps vermicious knid is a type of portmanteau word (a la Alice in Wonderland). (Maybe this seems to be a simple and egregious oversight to some, but you have to realize I've never even thought about the word 'til just now.) It's also possible that it's a middle-fill variation of a portmanteau, where the meanings

Hmmmm. . . You may be on to something Mr. Pina. I've never taken the word into consideration, I just assumed it was an artifically created word, but I didnt' thing about blending as a means for creating it. Ah, fun with morphemes, gotta love it. I'm going to look into this now that you've mentioned it.
