You see, the problem with these tests is that it is possible to balance an attribute. They don't tell you that when you take 'em, 'cause then everyone would just respond down the middle. Myers-Briggs type tests do not preclude the possibility of being both I or E, for example, it's just unrealistic to assume that in a stable personality both can exist constantly in equal abundance. Originally, I had learned the the middle characteristics (the N-S, T-F dichotomy) were less varaible in the general test-taking population, and so were better indications of personality. I mean, it's more likely you're feeling introverted or disorganized a day rather than feeling an overall trend toward realism or emotional thinking. You rarely wake up with the notion "today I'll think with my feelings" outside of children's literature. =) In any case, what I think my problem with these damn tests is that I'm caught between over-analysis and carelessness. I know the tests are really interesting but ultimately meaningless, so I rarely think about my ( ... )
