Nothing like being told that your level 80 DK sucks.  Oh, it wasn't in so many words, but the other day my friend and I were talking and he suggested I start running heroics.  I've never done a heroic - EVER.  Ironically, it's because I'm afraid of being told I suck. >.>   So I got all interested in the idea, excited even.  I was chatting with him

tanking or dpsing? idk tank stats, but dps need around 1300 for heroics, if you can't meet that either get some crafted gear or run the regular 80 instances.. also check out elitistjerks.com's forums for DK skill rotations.. usually helps up dps

It was the DPS that he said and yea, it was the same thing he said - if you're under 1100 dps forget heroics. Then he went on to semi-berate me for not doing instances. :(

I tell ya, they don't make things easy for the casual, solo player. =(

I had someone give me a link to some DK info, which I'll read up later. I don't know how many groups are going to want a level 80 in their instances, especially one who's poorly geared and never done instances. ><

I'm hoping to get my lower alts into instances, and maybe build up from the fear I have of being told I suck. I've got low self-esteem and when I'm told I'm too crappy to do stuff, it attacks my self-esteem a bit heh. I need to improve, I know that. I'm hoping some how I can force myself to get the alts into instances so I'm not at this place when they're level 80s.

It'd be worth it to check the AH as well, and research to see what can be crafted that'd be better gear for your character.

And don't be afraid to instance! Especially as DPS. I know where you're coming from; I have a fear of sucking and getting berated, too, but the truth is that if you even have Basic Clue (like, don't grab aggro from the tank), you're a leg up.

Also, your friend sounds kinda jerkish. :P I mean, is he even trying to help you get into the instances that will help you gear yourself better?

I've looked a bit in the AH for gear, but I've not got a lot of gold, and the stuff I found doesn't seem to better than what I have
