Day 18: A book you wish more people would've read
Le Ton Beau de Marot: in Praise of the Music of Language, by Douglas R. Hofstadter. I like words and language and am fascinated by the process of translation, and reading this book is most of the reason why. Speaking of Mary Roach, the other day I saw Bonk on the "Required Reading for Local Schools" shelf at Borders. And not just one copy, as if someone had left it there as a prank or something, but a whole stack of them. I was amused.
