I have faith. I can't name what it is I have faith in. And I can't say exactly what it is I believe, it's there. And that's pretty much all that matters. All things turn out for the better in the long run. I sympathize with Don Quixote (which does not necessarily mean that I have pity for him, simply compassion). The most pathetic part of the wonderful "human condition" is that your need for tragedy has a tendency to keep you from fulfilling your dreams, so you can probably be as optimistic as you want. But what will you be thinking on your death bed?

This has always struck me as one of the MOST CRUCIAL issues of life. The Tibetan Buddhists believe that it is the thing that will determine your rebirth.
