Well, so much for my resolution to post here more often. Where did the last two months go? I really must get back to that Aphid gunship model - that'll liven things up a bit.

Any-hoo - without giving any spoilers, I went to see Avatar in 3D the other night.
The trailer really really doesn't do it justice. I personally felt the story was more than

Cheers for that, I've been ho-humming about it (mainly because of the trailer) but I think I will go and see it now - ta!

Absolutely agree.
I can't believe some of the negativity surounding Avatar. Some people seem to believe that they won't look cool if they go along with the crowd. Not only did my (mostly) SF-resistant girlfriend love the film, there's a clear buzz in the crowd as it left the screening - when I see that, I know the film worked.

I was expecting to see the "Art of" book festooning Waterstones, I guess I'll have to order it from Amazon too.

As for talking in a mobile during a screening - that makes me tremble with passive-agressive rage. I think there should be a system that detects an offender, stops the film and illuminates the culprit with a searchlight until he finishes his call. I think one or two brutal but justified killings would soon change some peoples attitudes to chattering during a film...
