A few somewhat related things I can offer as info:

-They're building a big IKEA store here in Orlando, set to open next summer, I think.

-In music studios, they soundproof windows by doing one or both of two things: making the frames out of dense materials not connected to wall studs that transmit sound vibrations and/or using double-paned glass, setting the two panes at a slight angle to each other to disrupt the reflections of the sound waves in between the two panes so they don't pass beyond the second piece of glass.

I'm not sure how either of those facts would help you, but hopefully it might give you some ideas of things you could do to improve the windows, at least.

So you're back in the Atrium? What did they renovate?? Are you guys using the second bedroom as an office or something? I'll be up on Friday to visit the boy, since he's moving too (but just rooms instead of apartments, thank goodness). Wheeee! :)
