Now that I have something of an audience, it looks like a good time to ask for people's opinion's on things. Namely, have you noticed how some people have a passion about something? Something that helps define them? A couple of my friends here have art, back home there are the car people, the caffeine/alcohol/smoking people (person, I should say), ( Read more... )

No no, you made sense. Thank you. I think you're right about being passionate about anything as well, especially from the comments below.

there are so many things to be passionate about!
i have a lot of hobbies: playing guitar, sometimes violin, singing, painting, writing, taking pictures, etc.
the list could go on for ages.
but passion, i don't know, i love doing all those things, but i never wanted to be defined by the things i do. i'm more passionate about ideas and other abstract things. i'm passionate about modesty, truth, romance, and knowledge.
and as a result of being passionate about abstract things, it just kind of shows up when i do the things i do.

Passion of the abstract. That is definitely something I can relate to.

I'd say I have two main passions:
Stories. I love good plots, and I've loved them since I first learned to read. Books, games and movies with great stories draw me like a moth to a supernova.

Jack of all trades. This sounds dumb, but I love to be at least decent at everything I'm ever asked to do. I can cook, sew, drive, draw, create, demolish, play, find, swim, etc. I like to think there's nothing I can't do a reasonable job of. This does put a damper on other passions, though, as it means I'm pretty much incapable of excelling at anything, either.

Oooh, stories, thats a good one. And the jack of all trades thing sounds a bit odd but I get it, it makes sense. Nice.

a passion in definition is a strong emotion and enthusiasm for something, not necessarily including the actions which let it progress. with that stated, many people have many passions, some people carry one out to the fullest extent, few carry out them all ( ... )
