"Hey Shep" Maia came in stepping over the barriar. "How's it going?"

"Hey, come on in. Can you climb over, or do you want me to move that?" Even as he talks, he sets his book down and begins corralling ferrets.

Spirit is under the bed somewhere, but Magick is in one hand, licking Shep's fingers to tell him she wants down.

"You find someone to sic your Comm homework on?"

"Oh I called Pippi" Maia giggled "Told her something about the geese laying a golden egg at midnight." Maia giggled again. "What are those things?" She said eyeing the ferrets stepping back a little.

"This," Shep said hefting up a very small ferret, "is Magick. The girl-ferret. Spirit, the fat-boy-ferret is around here somewhere. Probably under the bed with a sock or a pen or something I'll spend six hours looking for the next time I need it." He holds Magick out. "She won't bite. She may lick and she may even put her teeth on your finger and tug, but she's just trying to steal you. She won't hurt you."

Shep thinks about her comm sentence. "No fair starting with a sentence that doesn't make sense in the first place!"
