This series was originally a fan fiction about the Ennis's experiences looking for himself after the death of Jack and finding clues to his death in a journal sent to him by Jack's mother.
The print book of "Tourmaline" has a blurb that reads as follows:
It's the summer of 84: Down and out, closeted drifter Colson Grey stumbles into a down-low "men's club" owned by Ellery Cantrell, the orneriest, most flamboyant chief detective in the smallest, most backward county in rural Arizona. When Ellery recruits Colson to help him with a case embroiling the club, their sudden intimacy sparks the violent jealousy of Ellery's former lover and business partner Bill, and exposes the raw pain of their mutual isolation and their equally raw sexual need.
the fan fiction was originally set in Wyoming but due to copyright concerns from Annie Proulx's lawyers, I had to rewrite it with all original material and it has since been published with these revisions.

I do hope you understand, the links above are to the extensively edited, updated, and I would like to say 'better' story, but the 'original' fan works are under cease and desist and I may not distribute them. Getting the 'letter' from a NY lawyer is not something an author ever thinks will happen but it did; I had wanted to make these original stories anyway. The links above to the TCREADER Livejournal are the 'official' books. I can friend you to my LOUISEV journal for the subsequent books which were written after the conversion (2007).
