"Murder (or a Heart Attack)" is on Blender's Top 500 Songs Since You Were Born. The blurb says "Girl sneaks out window, boy searches for her and leaves door open in case girl wants to return. Boy realizes girl, on return, might kill him."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it about his roommate's cat?

i always thought the danger was that in leaving the backdoor open, anyone could come in and kill him. but he'll do it 'cos he loves the girl, or cat, that much.

i realize that the song is, in actuality, about a lost cat... but i kind of prefer blender's interpretation. it's so much more twisted :-P

Why'd they choose that song? It's fucking terrible.

Old 97's mean the world to me. It hurts that their really good stuff gets no appreciation.

I don't think it's terrible but I thought that it was a bit random. It's just not the first song of theirs I would've picked.

maybe because it was a single that got radio play? it's the only song of theirs i ever remember hearing on the radio out here in l.a.
