I was very sad to hear of John Peel's death yesterday. He had such a love of life and music and is a great loss to the musical world. However much of a cliché it may seem to be, he is truly irreplaceable. I was sad to hear about it too, and very shocked. I think he really was important to a lot of people. He really was the best kind of DJ, he really cared about sharing good music with people who wouldn't hear it otherwise. You're right, it is a great loss to the musical world.

Yes, he had a real passion for music and was always on the look out to help good new (signed and unsigned) bands and get them known. He never stopped doing it, and I really don't think anyone else can do it in his place.
