BSG finale

I have never been more affected by the ending or finale of one of my shows as I was last night.  It still hurts.  I'm one of the ones that loved the finale.  I just hope that Smallville makes me feel just HALF of what I feel now for perhaps one of the best shows to ever run on tv.

The only thing I could think of that would have made the series finale better would have been if, in the very final scene HeadSix and HeadBaltar had walked over towards Kara (and maybe Sam) who was waiting for them.

Walking to Kara would have been great. Since Sam is one of the final five it wouldn't make any sense for Sam to be there.

I don't get the hate that I'm seeing at Twop over this finale. Then again, most of the hater's are brand new members or are posting for the first time. I think those that really hated it wanted an ending where everyone fucking dies in a blaze of glory.

People have been complaining about the religious overtones as well and they are forgetting how important a part religion has played on the series. From the prophecies to the notion of ONE God. It has always been there, some just thought it was a red herring.

Kind of like NOIS. Like I said, I really hope Smallville makes me feel half of what I feel now for BSG when it ends. I know Supernatural will next year when it ends, Smallville is the wild card for me.

Well, and I think Jacob deserves some of the blame for the negative feelings too. If you've read his Doctor Who recaps as well he's a HUGE fan of the Gnostic heresy (if you want to know specifics on that just let me know, but there's a reason it was rejected by the Christian faith) and he sees it in EVERYTHING so when the revelation at the end is pretty much Old School Mainstream Christian in nature he doesn't like it at all ( ... )

My Dad just brought up what would have been a great ending. What if they found an island in the middle of the ocean. Realizing that man was not going to be bumping into them any time soon as they didn't even have language yet, they decide to settle the WHOLE fleet on the island. They use whatever technology they have(excluding weapons) leftover after tearing the fleet apart and begin to establish a new civilization. Build cities as best they can.

Then in thousands of years, you show that this island, being on a tectonic plate fell into the city during a massive earthquake. However, some manage to survive and scatter to other parts of the world. But, they tell of a tale of their country, how it was glorious, with technology beyond it's time.

This would be the beginning of the Legend of Atlantis. Have you seen people mention this on other sites? I think it would have been a really neat way to tie it into our culture.
