Announcement: Week 3 Extension

Today is May 19, and tomorrow by 11:59 a.m. (EST) is your last chance to submit for the  week 3 assignment. We have zero entires for week 3 as of right now.

I understand completely if RL is too busy to post here, if you are not inspired to write for the prompt, etc., so I've taken the liberty to extend this week's ( Read more... )

No, that's ok dear! :') The deadline came up fast. And I think judging by how we had to give extensions this week and last week, it's a good idea to perhaps have two weeks for those larger assignments. I'll have to talk to the other mods about this, but I think it was already going into consideration ;)

Yeah, that's my thought. I think two weeks per assignment would be better. :)

Weekly motivating posts discussing the current prompts would be cool, now that I've thought about things with a clear head ;D In the middle of the week, we can talk about the current prompt: what we like/dislike, what makes it difficult/easy, etc....

And the two-week thing for larger/bigger assignments works best for me as well :)

Motivation posts sound like a good idea :3 It would be good for there to be a discussion post for the users to talk about what we liked about writing it, what's challenging or if anybody had any advice, etc.

Yeah, me too actually :'D I find it pretty hard to write in only a one week time margin because of how much school and personal work I have to do sometimes.

I'm not back yet, but I sort of am... Anyway, I wanted to give my two cents!

Yes, I think we should extend the deadline for assignments for every two weeks. In my own experience (and also as someone who ironically hasn't been able to hand in an assignment yet), I tend to use the first week for brainstorming, and by the time I have something in mind the deadline is already up. So I would find it very helpful to have two weeks to do an assignment.

During weekly discussions people could post a link to what they've drafted so far if they're having trouble/have questions. Sorry my weekly discussions have been so lame ;~;.

I agree with what you said. I've actually been behind with the community myself so I'm definitely going to hand in my work and week 2 critique this weekend...sadly school has been consuming because it's almost the end of the year :I Don't feel bad about not handing it in yet. I think a week to brainstorm and formulate ideas, and then an extra week to write and edit sounds good!

Also, that sounds like a good idea for the discussion post. I'm sure it will be helpful for users who need advice to do that. And your discussions have not been lame at all so far! Don't feel bad! 8')

This is a quick aside, but every time this community shows up on naruto_watch it seems like the editors don't know what to do with us XD. We're either under fanfiction, misc., or discussion. Tonight we got our very own section under the fanfiction XD. Just thought I'd share~

Ah!

Even though I haven't submitted yet, I think 2 weeks is a better idea for the stories.

I don't know about others, but I'm nearing the end of the semester at my uni, so finals are coming up and I haven't had the chance to get to work on the assignments, but with a 2 week deadline, I can spare enough time to write something!

No problem - I'm actually suffering through schoolwork overload right now too, so I feel your pain :') I'm glad you agree with the two week deadline idea!
