So, we have that gorgeous little snippet in canon about Crowley hanging around with Leonardo, and you've expanded that to include Botticelli <3 Your handling of human frailty/ephemerality from Crowley's POV is spot-on.
I think Crowley would be pretty fond of artists, TBH. Not just artists, but novelists, musicians - anyone that can create art would fascinate him. It's sort of the passion that'd shock him, and make him envious, make him ... kind of sad.
And thank you! Coming from you, it means a lot <3 I have a particular fondness for your way of writing Crowley, and I have to admit, I still remember lines from The Walls, the Wainscot and the Mouse.
Aziraphale is right in character with his patronizing use of "dear boy" and Crowley is bitter and sarcastic and fragile. I love the way this showcases Crowley's emotional wisdom, which is ironically so far ahead of the angel's - just like in the book. Aziraphale is good with kindness and and he has civility down pat but except in rare instances he maintains the sort of professional distance which allows him to merely tsk rather than want to get drunk. This ficlet perfectly pinpoints Aziraphale's capacity for oversimplification and habit of objectification that takes millennia to wear down before he can see Crowley as a being with feelings and capable of original thought.
I totally agree - Crowley as a character is just so much more human than Aziraphale, and it's a really fun dynamic to work with. I had an amusing image a while back about their reactions to various horror movies. Say, something like a zombie flick where Crowley'd be all like: NO THERE'S A CURE DON'T DIE and just generally sad at the waste and the loss of life (also goes for World Wars) while Aziraphale focuses on the greater good. It's kind of chilling, but really fun to work with.
You are awesome! That's a wonderrful way to put how Demons and Angels seem to live vs. Humans. I feel so bad about Crowley, but perhaps noticing it is the first step toward putting a little light in his life. :)
Oh, definitely, but I think it takes a little while until he can even admit to himself that he might never feel the same intensity -- and then I imagine Stuff with Aziraphale happens, and then that thought kind of dies an inglorious death.
And thank you! You are awesome as well, and I like your icon!
Crowley is really quite surprised at Aziraphale's ability to mess up a perfectly simple apple pie.
And thank you! I'm glad it didn't shift too quickly, sadly that is a problem of mine! (And, yes, Ezio was a huge help xDD I think I wrote a bit where Crowley was observing some batty bloke in white running over the rooftops, but I took it out because I didn't think anyone would get the reference.)
Florence is just gorgeous, I think. At some point, I want to visit, and I will take pictures of all the places I climbed in Assassin's Creed XD
