The mission for those of us who answer the questions, should we accept it, is to stay positive about our writing and ourselves, but to also be fair about our shortcomings.1. Of the fic you’ve written, of which are you most proud ( Read more... )

This is fabulous! Thank you for participating. Did it help you clarify anything in your head that was previously vague?

For the record - your response to #12 - right on! That's exactly the way writing should make you feel (IMO)

I think it told me that I need to get some better handle on what my strengths and weaknesses are in my writing. I am not sure I really quite know. Thank you!

And yes! I must love what I am doing or I get very depressed and discouraged! <3

Yep. You read Me On My Way to You. I love that one, even if it does make me cry. Thank you. I'm glad it works for other people, too.

I couldn't begin to say what it was about Kara that made me fall in love with her, but what I love about writing her is definitely her complexity - I can write her so many different ways, and it's all just a tiny bit of her character.

Well, if Dean Winchester likes my smut, I have won the internet. :D

I actually think that everyone should learn to write smut. It's the prefect encapsulation of rise and fall of a story.

There's no audience for genfic? Am I the only person who likes it? Granted, I read a whole lot more smut, but that's true of all my reading, not just my fandom reading. lol

What terrifies me about writing....that this new thing I've discovered and fallen in love with will go away as fast as it showed up. That the characters in my head (both fic and original) will stop talking to me.

I'm okay with some things never getting finished. I've got ideas that seemed fantastic at the time that once I wrote down that initial idea, nothing else has ever come to me. I am okay with that.

I'm not okay with the writing going away. I need it now. Nothing else in my life has ever been like writing is for me.

BSG is different - I don't feel like I have the same connection to any other characters I've watched or loved, ever. I'm so glad that connection is real and not just in my head. :D

After I posted this yesterday, we got slammed at work and then I had a dinner party last night, so hopefully once things settle down at the theatre, I will be able to play. There are days I hate being a responsible adult.
