Summer Writing Plans

May 06, 2014 14:20

Hello friends! Now that May is here (although still chilly and snowy in many parts of the world), I am thinking about my summer writing project(s). I have quite a few things going and I am wondering what YOU are all working on? TELL ME EVERYTHING! <3

Hopefully before summer, I will be finished with this round of edits. So for summer I should be looking for readers again, to check my work, and then another round of edits before I start querying. eep.

I have a lot of writing planned for the next few months. To get myself started, I signed up for four writing exchanges. One of those is over, but three others are underway in one form or another. I'm finishing up working on my BSG_Remix and it's pushing me out of my comfort zone, so that's pretty fun. I've also got one short Kirk/Spock fic (a continuation of my current series) and another long BDSM fic for the same pairing. I cannot stop thinking about that one, so am super excited for that writing to come ( ... )

I can't wait for your apocalyptic romance, whenever it will be written. This sounds like just my cup of tea.

Thank you! I am pretty jazzed about it. Now, just to determine the world/plot/apocalypse! (Eh, just the little things! ;P) :D

I looooove stories revolving around apocalypse and with a shiny new world to go with it... all the better.
*gets out pom poms*
You CAN do it!

I recently wrote a 3k erotic femslash story. The last week I spent trying to find a beta reader. So far without any luck. *hmpf*

The next plan is to write the last scene for my NaNo novel from last year and revise it. :)

Oh! You might find a beta reader here! Maybe someone will come along and offer assistance! A long time ago there use to be a beta finder comm, bsgbetareader or something like that, but I don't know if it's still around.

So cool that you wrote for NaNo. November is like the worst month possible for me to write (except maybe February). I am so impressed when people do it! Kudos!

That would be too awesome. I tried my own livejournal and dug out a tumblr community (as the livejournal ones are rather dead). No luck, but we'll see.
November is a rotten month for writing, I think. Only December would be worse. But after NaNo I was so powered out that I only really started writing again two weeks ago.
Did you ever hear of Camp NaNoWriMo? This is basically a second NaNo, just in April. :) Maybe for next year or so.

I have two outstanding things I've signed up for: bsg_remix and mcu_aufest. I'm hoping next week I'll have more time to work on the remix. I have a story in mind and a rough sketch that just needs words. For the MCU on, I've decided on a pairing and half-decided on a prompt (I think the idea I have could work with a couple of the prompts; I just need to do some planning to make sure it's actually AU enough). I completely fell in love with the universe after watching Captain America. I also have claimed a Steve/Tony prompt which is a baseball AU - perfect for summer writing.

I also have Conflicts of Interest ongoing which is an AU where Bill Adama followed in his father's footsteps to become a lawyer. Saul is the CO of Galactica and Bill is Tom Zarek's attorney -- I think this is going to make for some yummy, sexy conflict. I have one chapter up so far and plan to work leisurely on this WIP.

I picked up a second job this Spring, and have had no energy for writing, and I'm getting cranky because of it. This must change.

I'm now 1 story behind on my short story goal, haven't touched either of my novels in months, and haven't made a blog post in at least as long.

For summer, I hope to get back to writing at least a couple hours daily, both shorts and the novels. **fingers crossed**

Good luck with getting back into the writing groove. I really hate it when I can't write. It makes me cranky. Yes. That's the perfect word for it.

Isn't it, though? I'm not angry. I'm no depressed. I just have less patience for anything.
