Neuro ended on a high note. It was a little weird to take the shelf on Wednesday and then show up for two days, but we had a ton of patients suddenly arrive (just for us), so there was stuff to do and without the looming exam I could actually concentrate on the patients themselves. I just started reading Whose Body? (I think it's the first Lord Peter book). I like it so far, but I'm a little distracted by Lord Peter's rambling thoughts. He doesn't seem to take anything seriously. I like the meta bits, i.e. "Sugg is just like a detective in a novel" or somesuch. Still, I'm hoping that the characters become more human soon.

You're right that Lord Peter takes almost nothing seriously -- that's his charm. I do think the books improve as you go along -- my favorite is probably Have His Carcase.

I've gotten a little farther along and I do think Lord Peter improves upon further acquaintance. I really enjoyed his flowcharting of possibilities to the answer to his advertisement of the pince-nez. Possibility 1, Alternative A, Sub-Alternative 2 ... etc.
