I finished Brideshead Revisited the other day. My feelings are very like they were the first time I read A Room with a View: I like it, on the whole, but I don't quite understand it. It is a story about loss (all the funny bits notwithstanding) and I don't think I've had the Life Experience to get it in a visceral sense. It took about five years for A Room with a View to sink in. Evidently I am slow on the uptake.
