So I've found that when I look at fitness blogs and people talking about it on Facebook, there is this lack of basics. How do you start getting healthy from square zero? Another thing that I do for myself is to make my food look pretty. Seems silly right? I spend the extra few moments to cut up my fruit, or take the time when I'm picking out food to think about colorfulness of the meal. I sometimes use good china to eat lunch. We set the table for dinner almost every night. I am so much happier eating something that looks good.

A comment about my lunch today for instance, "Enjoy your lunch, it looks cute." I had a bowl of chicken noodle soup with a napkin and spoon. Set next to it was 10 crackers and a cut up apple.

I think we, as humans, enjoy ritual.

I have also found that treating meat as a condiment is a very effective approach to gradually eliminating meat, or at least limiting it ( ... )
