FIRST PLACE AT fe_contest! YEAHHHHH!

Big thanks to everyone who voted for me, and congrats to the other entrants too. I didn't think King of Red Dunes would take first, but I'm definitely thankful it did. :D

This might go to prove my personal idea that the things that come easiest also turn out the best--I did some work on it in terms of editing and adding ( Read more... )

Congratulations writerawakened!

I know what you mean when stories just seem to write themselves. Too bad it can't happen all the time, right?

I actually did read your story but never reviewed, my apologies. I'll try to amend that in the coming days.

Thank you. Also, don't worry about it! If I had the spare time to read and review all the fics I'd intended to...well, I would have a lot more free time than I do now, hehe.

[(or because I have a bad habit of writing scenes out of order XD)]

Haha, I don't know if I'd call that a bad habit, but if it is, I'm with you there :P. I always write everything out of order. It's definitely extra work "knitting" it all back together, as I'm wont to say, but I don't think there's anything wrong with writing scenes as they come.

In other news, congratulations! :D

Thanks! :D

The only problem with writing scenes out of order--as I was talking about with [info]amielleon the other day-- is that you run the risk of having scenes feel disjointed and without enough buildup to them if you don't write them in sequence. Stitching earlier-written scenes into the body of a story can wreak havoc on a story's flow, IMO; I've had to toss out countless otherwise good scenes because I plain couldn't fit them in convincingly after the fact.

Also, for me at least, writing scenes out of order like this is a way to avoid having to write the transitional passages and plot out the course of a story, which are by far the weakest parts of my writing. :P
