First, I want to say squee that you're using one of my icons. If I made more, would you use them (I'm feeling the itch to play in Photoshop).

Augh for the no work to do. That would drive me nuts. And office sharing? How are you supposed to adjust your panties and other things of that nature when you have to share an office? But it rocks that you'll get time to work on your book! Yea, FM!

Did we not just have this conversation about the time to write at work? And it sounds like we'll have time to discuss the finer points of plot as well, *squee*

And, I hope you have an opportunity to show Mr. Engineer that you have excellent contributions to make! Even though I'm married to an engineer, I know how frustrating and maddening they can be. The writing will make it all worth while. Especially when Dorcester calls you back. *crossing fingers and toes*

Yay FM for finding the silver lining. I say that - if they're willing to pay you to do nothing - then spend their money well and do things to enrich your life. (And ours, since you'll be writing more)

Hey, I'm with the consensus that says you should take advantage of an opportunity when it presents itself. Yes, being at work with nothing to do can be more than a little frustrating. However, it's not as if you can't find *other* things to keep you occupied. And if they're willing to pay you for "playing" then who are we to say it's wrong?
