I do not think this is too long nor do I think it needs a great deal of editing. A few punctuation things here and there, maybe a sentence or two that needs a bit of re-arranging, but nothing major at all. Your voice is fantastic! Is this based upon something? What references do you use for your fae myths? I love your description and I can't wait to see more of the reluctant king of autumn! Beautifully done!

Mmm, no, really it's just an idea that popped into my head when we were crossing a mountain pass and there was snow and I was like... "Everything is so pretty! ... I wonder what the ruler of winter would look like?" and then I jotted down this short little thing on his appearance and it went from there...

As for fae myths, I use just what I've read over the years about them. I use google/wikipedia and whatnot, plus fairy tales I read as a kid... and Holly Black is a wonderful inspiration too xD
