Hello:

I just posted Part I of a new original fic called The Queen of the Dawn.

I'm curious--before I make a comment, I wonder, is this story is meant to read like a fairytale (ie. expositional)?

Well Part I is expositional, but the story does get going quite quickly. :)

I suppose I'd have to see the second part in order to offer you any feedback, especially if you plan to offer a more narrative style in it compared to the expositional style here. If your entire story is written as mainly exposition, I'd have to admit that it would be rather tedious to read.

I hear you. The conventions of the idiom dictated part I a bit. Though I did want it to have that feverish 19th cent Keats-Shelley-Coleridge feel. Yeah, the tale gets more narrative, closer and familiar as it progresses. The challenge for me was to maintain the 'fairytale' quality while creating a dynamic story. I'll be posting part II tonight. ;) Cheers.
