Hmmm, I'm not sure your project here will earn much considering there are thousands and thousands of writers out there every day who manage to write novels without any money at all, myself included. I recently self-published two novels as ebooks. I sell them for .99 and 1.99 each, respectively, through Amazon and Smashwords (which includes online retailers like iTunes, Barnes and Noble, etc.). I would suggest that you write your book, find a beta reader who will edit/offer feedback for free, and do some research online about self-publishing, or if the traditional route is what you're aiming for, a literary agent and/or publisher ( ... )

Agreed with the two people above me, and I wanted to share this article in case you were considering a vanity press like Author Solutions: https://davidgaughran.wordpress.com/2013/05/04/the-author-exploitation-business/

I found it informative and eye-opening - and it provides a couple of helpful links on self-publishing.

I also recommend posting stories on the 'net for free in places where people will see them (Fiction Press and Archive Of Our Own both work well for this). It's a good way to test your readership potential. I can understand if people don't want to do this (you want to jump right into publishing), but if you're open to it, it's a useful way to gain practice in writing for an audience - and sometimes a few tidbits of useful feedback, too.
