Hello!

May 15, 2005 23:10

Hi! I just joined the community, and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is Meghan, I'm 19, and interested in just about everything. I love writing. It is often a catharsis for me *hence the online journal*, and I've recently become interested in fan fiction. I love writing, and reading, short stories, although I love reading anything ( Read more... )

What fandom are you interested in? I'm a huge HP fan, incase the icon didn't give me away.

I have a pen clipped to my purse and paper every where. But I keep my writing journal in my purse too.

And sticky notes in the bathroom is a good idea .. or a dry erase board because I get most of my good ideas in the the shower. :)

I'm definitely into HP. Since I've read the books so many times, and I'm trying to be better at Spanish, I'm reading the first book in Spanish. I don't even have to look up the words that I don't know, because I know what word should be there. I'm a nerd!

The dry-erase board in the shower is a great idea! I might have to buy one.

Yay another HP obsessive. I read SS/PS in Italian. I too knew what the words were supposed to be ... I am a nerd too.

Would you mind if I added you to m flist?

Welcome! I'm a newbie too. Actually, this is me de-lurking in this community.

As for pens: there's always at least one in my backpack, back pocket, by the computer (even though Word is always open); sometime's I keep one behind my right ear, only to forget about it, and there are always two pens under my pillow.

Thanks!

I keep pens by the computer too. I just like having stuff actually written. Except for LJ, I do all my work on paper first. What about you?

I have a notebook I carry around (and frequently lose), but I always transfer work over to Word as soon as I get it down. Then there's the stuff I write on my arm at three am and have to transfer before it washes off in the shower.

For some reason, the words usually flow better on paper, they come out more easily. I think it's because the pencil almost becomes and extension of one's hand - oneself, essentially. Also, it's less mechanical than the click-clacks of a keyboard, though that in itself can be soothing sometimes.

I write on my right arm, but I think that has something to do with being left-handed...!

Writing is always catharsis! What kind of stuff do you write?

Well, mainly short stories. If I write poetry, I get stuck in writing poetry, and am unable to write anything else for awhile, so I often avoid it. I have a tendancy to be dark and sarcastic in my writing. In the one I'm working on now, everybody dies in the end. My feeble attempts at fan fiction *so far* are not worthy of being read, but it is interesting. Otherwise my journal is my means of storytelling. Before a story from my life goes in my journal, I've usually told it 4 or 5 times, so I know exactly how I want it worded.

What about you? What do you like to write, or write best?

Arms are awesome. My mother used to look at my arms and say 'are we so poor we cannot afford paper?" lol. haha. legs too.

I keep a pen in my hair since lately I keep it up.

Welcome to the community! *waves*

Thanks! *waves back*

I definitely was banned from writing on myself when I was living at home. My mother didn't use the 'we' form, but she did say, "People will think that I don't buy you paper!"

The icon is of Sean Biggerstaff, a.k.a. movie!Oliver Wood. I might have a creepy-strong crush on him. Possibly *shifting eyes*.

Welcome to the community! My name is Maren and I'm nineteen too. What fandom have you recently dipped into?

Wonderful question, by the way! I keep a pen in my bag when I'm going out to town, in my room, and sometimes in random places that I forgot about.

HP too. Although I haven't written much in a while. Usually my pairings are inspired by rpgs I've done, like Lisa Turpin/Theodore Nott.
