Hi all. Yes, I know we’ve been a little quiet in here - RL got super-busy, but I thought somebody else might make the odd post or two. Since they haven’t, I’m now pondering on the future of Writer’s Toybox
( Read more... )
I don't know. Most of the ones I've seen have petered out. I'm not sure why and that's not just on LJ I' m hearing that from most of the blog services. But you can't duplicate that on facebook or twitter. Maybe tumblr
It's sad that so many lj comms seem to be dying out these days. Personally, I don't get the appeal of Tumblr.
If it stops being a B/A community, there won't be any left(other than IWRY Marathon)
I think this is a great place to find prompt ideas. So I hope you leave it up and maybe if nothing else add prompts, plot bunnies, etc... every once in a while.
With RL so busy, I have practically no spare time to spend on fandom, (which is why I gave up IWRY this year) and I need to figure out where my time will be best spent, or indeed, if there is anything I can do that people still want…
Thank you for responding. I’m still hoping for more responses, to show that somebody else besides us still care, but I got fed up making prompts and such to be greeted with silence. I hope that means everybody was too busy writing to answer…
I’m happy to leave Toybox here. I just want to know somebody will come in and play with the toys sometimes!
Are there really no B/A coms left? That’s so very sad.
I'm as guilty as the next person, rarely on LJ anymore, only occasionally peeking in to see if it's still here. Barely it seems...so sad. Everyone has dropped the ball for one reason or another.
Opening up Toybox to other fandoms has no appeal to me whatsoever...I'm quite narrow-minded...but maybe I'm the exception rather than the rule, and it would be a shame to take away the only remaining B/A exclusive community besides IWRY! Just sayin'...
Either way, to put your mind at rest over this, possibly giving it one more go would help determine what happens next.
But then someone has to start the ball rolling...!
It would be a shame to lose another B/A site, but I wonder that if nobody is running or visiting them, does that mean there is no call for them?
I’m not going to close Toybox, I just haven’t decided what to do next.
Are you really up for it?
Always! But what squishes my enthusiasm is when nobody seems to care… if people want B/A things I’m more than happy to provide, but you know how depressed the fandom lethargy has made me feel lately. This is why I’m tying to judge interest with this post.
Tumblr? Never had an interest, and it seems as if I was right not to have one.
Like the previous post I am only interested in the B/A forums, though I do have a keen interest in Trueblood I have never gone out of my way to look for forums in that fandom. There was just SOMETHING about Buffy and Angel that took, and still takes, my fancy.
Life has just gotten busier and I seem to have less time to check my LJ friends' posts, where once before it was my TO DO every day.

What do you think of the possibility of making Toybox into a general writing site? I’m still not sure anyone would use it…!

I would've responded sooner but I was opening up the next round of wicked_awards.
I've put a link to this comm in the IWRY Marathon Welcome Letter. Just in case someone might need help finding a prompt for their story.

If you want, you can mention that they’re welcome to make their own posts, ask questions, add their own prompts, etc.

Like you, I’m fond of other shows but none have ever inspired me to seek out other fans or meeting places, etc, so its rather odd really.
Thanks for responding here. Its never too late!
