Get rid of the car?

I would take the carpet out of the trunk, if you can, and scrub it down with a mix of water, dishwashing liquid (a couple of TBSP per gallon of water), and a Tbsp of baking soda or borax. Let it dry in the sun.

For the car, wash out the trunk with the same mix you used on the carpet, and dry with a towel.

If the smell is lingering in the car, a bowl of charcoal briquettes left in the closed car overnight should help a lot.

How do I know? I "lost" a bottle of formula in my car for a week, during which the bottle broke open. The memory alone makes me want to hurl :-&

Good luck!

Excellent advice! P. threw up (like ALOT) in the back seat a year ago while we were on 75. By the time I could pull over it had soaked into the upholstery and worked it's way down under the seat etc. EWWW! It took 3 rotations of what PBG suggested before the smell disapated. Be warned, until everything is completely dry the smell is likely to get worse.
