Well it happened. I started writing up an Avatar OC.

here she is.

Wei is the daughter of a wealthy clothing merchant from the Earth Kingdom in Omashu. Before the Fire Nation took over Omashu, she had a mildly noble living standards with wealth and some aristocracy. However, much like the ruler of Omashu, Wei proved to be the unconventional merchant’s daughter, and took to climbing trees and running through the mud instead of wearing nice silks and attending teas. Her mother died when she was four, having given birth to Wei’s younger brother, Po. During her childhood, whenever her father went away on business, Wei and Po would stay with the old woman next door who would teach her to cook and fix Po’s toys. Under the woman’s tutelage, Wei learned reading and writing, and by age ten, she took a side job as a scribe for the elderly of the city who could not write as well due to old age.

Wei took up the most work around the house while her father away. She would cook, clean, wash and scrub and organize, and even take and pick up her brother from school. She often had a little mud on her arms from working, and her hair would not be the most arrayed, but she did posses a charming, childish charm that caught a few boys’ eyes, but never able to catch Wei’s in return. Wei had no plans to marry, nor did she wish to marry (though she was aware of the fact that she would have to marry when she came of right age to keep honor upon her father), and was more of a playmate and fellow boy-in-case with the city’s male children.

However, womanhood came, and turned Wei into a mellower, more composed young woman and the most of her mud flinging days were through. But her sharp tongue and wild attitude were far from reigned in. While Wei wore the soft silks and bowed politely with Earth Kingdom aristocracy, she also sent little comments to dig at a pompous merchant’s pride, or de-bloat an egotistical society matron. After the Avatar came to Omashu and put some dents in the trade delivery service rails, Wei was the fourth person to dare to ride the carts the way Avatar Aaang and his friends had. Po was sixth, as he had to ride with Wei for safety measure.

Then the Fire Nation came when she was fourteen. They took King Bumi, they took Omashu, and with it, Wei’s home and her luxuries. The soldiers taking over Omashu put Wei and Po in a dingy, dank squalor with other Omashu citizens, and expected them to be content with their loss. Wei was far from content, and whenever she could, she would throw stones at the passing guards. She earned a few burns on her arms from whipping rope for her disobedience, but to Wei, it was worth it.

yea i'm good, pump up the music
