1st Annual While The Cat's Away Ficathon
As those of you on my flist probably already know, I am leaving dark and early tomorrow (hi 4:30 AM) to head to the airport to catch my flight to the other side of the pond. I'll be gone for two weeks, enjoying all the fun and culture that London, Paris, and Munich have to offer me. But I didn't want for all of you to be bored while I was away. And I wanted lots of fun things to come home to. So, with that in mind, I present to you the 1st Annual:
Because, as you know, while the cat's away, the mice will play. And play is what I want you to do.
THE RULES are easy:
1. Post prompts! They can be any fandom, any character, any pairing, whatever you want. Format them as such: fandom, character(s) [+ pairings if any], your choice of prompt be it a lyric, a word, a picture, etc. If you have just a general prompt, format it like this: any, your choice of prompt be it a lyric, a word, a picture, etc. (See my prompts for examples if you're still confused)
2. Answer prompts! Find something you like, and go with it. Fics should be posted with the following subject line, please: title, fandom, character(s)/pairings, rating. Any and all ratings will be allowed, just please make sure you do put a rating up. If your fic ends up being longer than one comment, that's totally fine (and awesome). You can either post the entire fic at your own journal or community and link to it, or you can post the fic in as many comments as you need. Just post the first part in one comment and then continue to reply down until you have posted the whole thing. Also, more than one person can respond to a prompt, so don't feel like a prompt is dead once it's been filled. If you've got an idea, a different twist, whatever, go with it!
3. Leave Feedback If you like something, tell the author. Just please make sure you hit reply to the comment the fic has been posted in, and don't post it as another separate comment. It will get lost amongst the thread. Stray comment fics will be allowed though, so if someone does post a random floating comment, feel free to post a stray comment fic, which can be anything you want, but is usually something cracked out. All feedback needs to be respectful. I will not accept any flames or any rude comments, and if I see any, they will be deleted immediately. There will be a lot of different prompts and pairings in this ficathon. That's the way I want it to be. So if you see something that isn't your cup of tea, just ignore it. I'm leaving this post open so that everyone can participate, however if there are issues, I will make it members only or shut it down. I will still be able to check in while I am away and I don't want any issues. This is meant to be in fun, let's keep it that way.
4. Spoilers Readers, beware of spoilers if you don't want to be spoiled. Authors, if you know you have a major spoiler in your fic or think you might spoil someone, please make a little note about this.
5. Pimping There are pimp banners under the cut. Feel free to use them and pimp this ficathon to your flists. They're hosted on tinypic, so you can just copy the urls.
6. Most importantly, HAVE FUN and leave me lots of fun things to come home to.
