A little more serious than what I'm used to when writing Matori, but there are new Kanju photos at the shop and for the first time in nearly a decade, Matori (and the other members of Gang Star) actually have real photos. Also, I'm late. >.<
Meant this as more of a friends thing than a couple fic, and huh. There's no tag for Kanju.
Rather unexpectedly, Matori finds himself in a familiar neighborhood, one he hasn't been to in a very long time. He thinks back on a time when he'd spend days at a time here, sometimes weeks.
He keeps walking until he's looking up at the bright windows of the Kusumoto household. The light is on in Yukito's room but he hesitates for a second before ringing the doorbell. Kusumoto-san is the one to answer the door and she's surprised to see him but enthusiastically ushers him into the house the next second, already fussing over how thin he is.
"You just sit tight. I'll make you something," she says cheerfully before calling in a much louder voice, "YU-KUN! COME DOWN! MATORI'S HERE~"
The feeling of unease creeps its way back into Matori's chest as he listens to the rush of hurried footsteps on the stairs. They've both been busy and so he knows that it's not all his fault that they haven't hung out in ages, but he feels guilty for not making more of an effort when he see just how happy Yukito is to see him.
They sit side by side, joking and laughing like it hasn't been ages since they talked and later that night when they're both squeezed in on Yukito's bed for the night, Matori gives in and hugs Yukito tight.
"I missed this," he murmurs. "Even though we don't work together anymore and you dance with other people now, I don't want things to change between us anymore."
Yukito hugs him back. "I feel th--"
"So!" Matori continues before Yukito can say anything more. "I'm gonna continue being Yukito-tanto and make all your fangirls jealous. You should post on Twitter that we're sharing a bed tonight!"
You're up
