This is set in my Elemental AU after a NiSen fic I didn't post yet. Sorry if it doesn't make much sense.
“I think I just made a huge mistake.” Nikaido sighed. He entered Yokoo’s room without knocking, startling the other as he was going through some papers.
Nikaido looked sincerely worried so Yokoo didn’t have the alacrity of telling him he should definitely learn to knock. He looked at him with sympathetic eyes. It was unusual for Nikaido to admit he did wrong and it was even more unusual for Yokoo to condone it. Yokoo guessed it had something to do with his training with Fujigaya and he knew Fujigaya wasn’t easy to deal with sometimes.
“It’s just too difficult. Am I really supposed to do this?” Nikaido looked at his own hands and appeared to be scared of something.
“I thought you wanted to learn how to use your powers.”
Yokoo turned back to the fireplace and carefully took the kettle out of the embers to pour some hot water in his tea cup.
“I do! I just... Yokoo-san, you’re not listening to me. I really think I made a huge mistake. Something dangerous. Fujigaya will kill me.”
“Did you ruffle Fujigaya’s hair with your powers? I understand how that can be dangerous but...”
“I’m not joking Yokoo-san. You have to help me!”
Yokoo scrutinized Nikaido’s face and saw his lips curved in a desperate expression and his eyes pleading for help. At the same time he seemed reluctant to talk as if he was scared of confessing what he did.
It had been three months since Nikaido joined the Elementals and arrived at the House. After the outburst of the day Yokoo found him, his powers didn’t show up as nothing more that a gentle breeze. Yokoo knew Nikaido missed his friend Senga and that he would take a while for him to begin controlling his powers again, not to mention to actually reach a level that would be helpful in battles. Nonetheless he wanted him to take it easy. It was dangerous to force someone to use his powers without knowing his state of mind. Maybe allowing Fujigaya to train him hadn’t been a very good idea. But Fujigaya had insisted he could do it, that Yokoo shouldn’t be the only one taking responsibilities there and that he wanted to be of help. Yokoo accepted, not without fear, but he knew that Nikaido’s powers couldn’t be harmful at this stage.
Yokoo took a sip from his cup, and felt the hot tea burning his lips. Maybe he should have been more careful about a lot of things.
“Then you’ll have to tell me what you did. How can I help you if you are here fidgeting instead of explaining what the problem is?”
“Promise you won’t get angry.”
Yokoo rolled his eyes.
“After all I think I can manage myself.” Nikaido turned towards the door but as he was about to open it, the ground shook beneath his feet and thick roots came out of the floor and tied knots around his legs immobilising him.
Nikaido slowly turned his face and caught a glimpse of Yokoo, his cup between his fingers and his eyes piercing him with their sternness.
“Tell me what happened,” Yokoo’s lips bent in a grin. “Or I’ll really get angry.”
Nikaido sighed and saw no escape from the situation in which he had put himself in. He knew they would find out eventually.
“Fujigaya is unconscious, but he’s fine, he’s not hurt. Unlike the rose bushes. I think I caused a hurricane in your garden.”
