Hehehehehe, it's so cool to use team 3, okay.
This is set in
Castle!AU, diving into the Luckys storyline which I will write... someday. 8D/ The Luckys inhabit the age-group somewhere in between YamaRyo's and Yara's.

"I am not a peon," Fujigaya said before socking Kawai in the nose. Kawai could hear Totsuka in his head, pointing out that he deserved it, but Kawai hadn't really thought of it when he's run one of the castle's servants and nearly fallen over. ("Bloody blind peons!")
Not-A-Peon Fujigaya gave him a bloody nose, something his fellow pages raised an eyebrow at, wondering why he didn't just punish the commoner boy. Fujigaya was already eyeing them as well, as if waiting for one of them to hand their nose over to bloody as well.
Kawai decided he liked him.
"Come eat dinner with me and my friends," he said when all the others left, he'd mopped up all the blood, and Fujigaya stopped giving him that poisonous look.
Staring at him as if he'd sprouted horns, Fujigaya asked "What?"
"Dinner! We eat out in the gardens," Kawai explained.
"... Fine," Fujigaya said, eyes narrowed in suspicion. Kawai laughed, because it was funny, though probably well-deserved. Kawai was a famous little troublemaker in the palace.
"You have a stray?" Kitayama asked, amused, when Kawai brought Fujigaya out to the gardens. Dinner was simple when they ate outside, if only because it was a pain to try and eat three different courses on your lap, but nobody minded. Kitayama was already there, nibbling on a pastry, while Totsuka was setting out food from his basket.
"What, you have Tottsu, it's only fair."
Kitayama grinned lazily. "Yes, but Tottsu gets us food from the kitchens. At least he's useful."
"Not a stray either," Fujigaya said hotly. He walked over and planted himself next to Totsuka. "I didn't realizes these were the idiots you were hanging out with lately."
"They're not too bad," Totsuka said, laughing. "Though I wish I'd known you were going to be here, I'd have brought a couple more of those pastries. They were really great today."
"This idiot feels left out," Kitayama interrupted. "I don't know who Kawai's stray is."
"Watch out," Kawai said, grinning. "He might go after your nose."
"This is Fujigaya Taisuke," Totsuka said. "He's apprenticed to the palace's tailor."
"You're one of the frilly boys?!" Kawai asked, bursting into laughter. He hadn't actually asked Fujigaya. He'd just known that Fujigaya worked in the palace.
"I am," Fujigaya said, stressing the words carefully, eyes glinting mutinously, "the one who is going to rip the seams out of all your uniforms if you don't shut up."
"I could get you thrown out for that," Kawai shot back. He liked Fujigaya's spirit and found him amusing.
Snorting, Fujigaya flicked his fingers against Kawai's (very sore) nose. "Believe me, you'd never be able to prove that."
"Nobleborn's word would trump any reputation you might have," Kitayama said.
"Maybe that's something that should change," Fujigaya said stiffly.
"You would be in the wrong, Taipi," Totsuka pointed out.
"Yes, but doesn't it seem that one should be found guilty of their crimes, rather than forced into it because some boy just happens to think he is something more than you?"
"This soup is going to get cold," Totsuka said instead of replying, a pointed changing of the subject.
It broke the tension that had appeared so suddenly. Kawai dived into the soup, slopping some onto his tunic, and everyone laughed and relaxed.
As they ate, swapping tales of the day - Kitayama's new mare had spooked at a raven and nearly trampled him, Totsuka had overheard the scullery maids gossiping about visiting Prince Hideaki and his relations to a certain son of the House of Tsubasa, and Kawai had won a gamble on whether or not their Knightmaster's hair was real or not. He refrained from commenting on which was true. That got a laugh out of Fujigaya.
"Prince Tomoyuki got a scolding because he keeps sneaking out to the stables," Fujigaya said, when they all turned to him in hopes of a tale. "His Majesty seemed quite fed up."
"There's that," Kitayama laughed. "He's a proper squire and all, but I swear Lord Morita spends half his time asking the pages to find him."
"He's always running off," Fujigaya said, grinning. It was as if a piece had fallen into place and this was something they'd been doing for a very long time. "You should see it when my Master needs to fit him for a new season. He hates it."
Kawai's nose was still sore, but he decided that he liked Fujigaya.
He liked him a lot.
