Soul!AU (that isn't the other Soul!AU I have.

The stratosphere was Ryouta’s favorite place to think.
Most preferred secluded forest knolls or the mysterious ocean depths somewhere away from dirtying contact with others. The skies were too filled with mechanical life and harsh chaos. However, for Ryouta, the skies were the only place he felt truly free. Sure, there were aircraft and people and all that, but all that was so easy for a detached soul to avoid and so Ryouta would spend hours there, dancing on nothing. The dancing helped him think, gave his soul something to do while his mind was occupied.
It wasn’t that he always had a particular puzzle that needed puzzling or a problem that needed solved, but there was always something and Ryouta liked the freedom to work it properly. ‘
Sometimes Ryouta just liked to escape.
Today he danced in the emptiness, between land and sun and space. There was nowhere he couldn’t go, he felt, and he longed to. To run and to leap and to dance his ways to the stars and back, to spin his way around the world the wrong way and to laugh the whole way. He could do it too. He was sure he could.
But then there was a small brush against his conscious. Someone had reached out, trying to coax his soul back into his body. At first Ryouta was reluctant to return, for he found his body restricting and cage-like, but then he realized just who was waiting for him and found himself eagerly diving back into his soulless body.
Breath.
Heartbeat.
Body and Soul.
As he filled his body out again, settling his soul into place where it belonged, there were lips insistently pressed against his own in a kiss he responded to as soon as he could.
Yara pulled back a few moments later, smiling tenderly as he caressed Ryouta’s cheek, thumbing over his dimple before leaning in for another kiss. It made coming back easier, being able to feel Yara warm against him, to feel the touch of his fingertips, the shape of his lips, and the weight of his body, easier as he stayed relaxed, intent on getting as many kisses from Yara as he could.
“You were so far away,” Yara murmured, low and steady, against Ryouta’s lips.
Ryouta frowned, unsure if he felt guilty at Yara’s words or not for he had been very far away indeed. The sky was an endless blue above him, with a few clouds drifting from horizon to horizon, reminding him of how he could dance in the sky as well. But then Yara caught his mouth in another kiss, one that was almost a question and it surprised Ryouta.
But he relaxed, tugging Yara just a little bit closer. “It’s okay, Yaracchi… I’ll always come back.”
