[original poetry] - "Thrombosis"

Jun 26, 2007 13:49

I wrote this poem in late 2005, during a lunch break at work. The world felt windless then - I was in Sales, working our kiosk and bored beyond belief; I was newly married and struggling to cope with a bevy of losses. I was desperate for a breeze, would have given my soul for a little ruffle of wind - a whisper, a kiss. *wink* In any case, the air ( Read more... )

Wow...an amazing poem. I especially like the pockets of rainwater "like bruises, lavender-blued" and "walls the color of bone." Lots of color here, lovely. Also like the exchange at the end.

Thanks so much, love! I really appreciate you taking the time to read and comment - especially considering that at this point I owe you a ton of comments. *smacks self*

So glad you enjoyed the work. *squishes*

From every cloud has come the silver lining.

I am completely poetry-disabled and am in awe (in small letters) of anyone who has the english language at their fingertips so readily and adroitly.

If this is the result of your 'data mining' I would suggest the comms would be a better place if you were to continue.

So, is the new job any better, or are you wishing for the good old days of boring kiosks? We often find ourselves trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea, don't we?

I've said it a kazillion times--should probably just have it on the old clipboard--and I don't want to sound fawning nor redundant, but I always stop everything when I see you've posted (even though the notice hasn't shown up on my yahoo; found this surfing) and I've never been disappointed. I hope this little tip-toe across the keyboard is enough to spark the muse and get that little petulant wench working again....Kerry

Thanks for reading and commenting!

The new job is better now. I definitely do not miss the days of kiosks and retail stores - despised that whole gig. I do, however, miss the position I held before this one: managing the Georgia market. I enjoyed shuttling between stores and working with the salespeople. Was a joy, but this new position is allowing me to develope a different skillset, which is always a good thing.

Hopefully, as I settle in, I'll get a chance to write a bit more.

Thanks again.

Mmmmm, love this - the "sandy sky" and the "clouds floating like feathers."

Would love to read a continuation of the story...

Beautiful, love.

Oh, thanks sooooo much, love! I don't know if I'll finish this poem - or perhaps just consider it finished as is - just because Jack, The Mongoose, and his Lobster Sidekick will not leave me alone. They want me writing post-AWE smut. Oh yes. ;)

*hugs* Thanks much!
