So, I am so excited, I just have to share this with everyone.  If you've followed my work at all, you probably have some idea that in my various universes, I always write Jack as being half-Indian, having once been named 'Jahangir Ranjit Pakshi', and as having a sister, Saraswati.

And so I've written and written with these two living in my head, ( Read more... )

fic inspiration, jack and sara, potc, kingdoms of the swan, sailing in samsara, cool graphics by awesome people

Wow -- I have followed your version of Jack's backstory and it is one of my favorites because it is so original -- and this is most definitely worthy of the aforementioned squee and happiness

That is just lovely... now I just have to catch up with the last chapter of KotS and the holiday fic you did... (slinks off...)

Ok one of these days I'll have the willpower to call it a night and NOT open up Photoshop for one final play :)

I had a little go at the icon version of the banner.

Bobafxxx is so the bomb - total dream-weaver, that one. :)

I'm so glad that you enjoy my take on Jack. It was born from several moments in the film as well as a desire to try and bring him closer to home, to give him a core that I could make sense of in terms of psychology, mannerisms, etc.

And how exciting that you write Jack as Indian as well! I'm very interested to read about your take on him. :)

I haven't had a chance to read much from other authors that write Jack as hailing from India as I'v been somewhat absent from the fandom for a bit. I'm sorry to say that I haven't read your work yet, although I'm very excited to have new reading to fill my free hours. Do you have a link to a good starting point?

Yeah, I know what you mean about his "core" so to speak. Before I knew about fanfiction etc, I'd actually filmed a just-for-fun version of COTBP with a few of my friends, and we wrote a scene where Jack was a child in India - I guess Jack has that Indian Mystique to him in my mind, that natural sense of grace, etc. Its interesting stuff, no ( ... )

bobafxxx showed me this last night, and I totally fell in love with young Jack!

In fact, I begged her for a version of Jack by himself, which has pride of place on my journal. :)

*sighs* Ranjit and Saraswati are made of awesome. ;) Truth be told, Sara's integral to my personal canon. I just love her (and Ranjit, of course).
