Sailing in Samsara, C.3 - The Paths of Krishna and Kali - part three

“Ah, very good, Captain-ji. Yes, the evil and power-hungry King Kamsa killed all of his little nephews, one by one.” The crowd gasped and huffed, and even Parrot squawked loudly, shaking his head and craning his neck. “Well, Vasudeva came up with a plan when little Krishna was ( Read more... )

I took the liberty of fixing a slight error that occurred in posting - the bloody LJ monster bit off part of Jack's sentence in the first paragraph.

Love, love, love your telling of the Krishna/Radha legend, and the allusions to the parallels with J/E that you slip in - very well done.

Jack's response to Lizzie's heroics is spot-on, and his declaration of love is pure Sparrowian romance at its finest. Vomiting and all.

And the mongoose! Love the mongoose :)

So what does Jack do if gibbs and his sister start a little--thing?

The sense of Jack's mild frustration with Lizze is great! He's made her into a pirate--now what does he do with her? As hard as she may try, she'll never be a man (on a boat will prove that to any woman very quickly) and she'll never have the years of experience. There's a touch of the patient father/irascable daughter here. Love it!! With their age difference, it's inevitable (sp?)

He has a good point as well: Best intentions and valiant as she may be, she can jeopardize everyone on board with her stubborness. How many times will he have to point that out, gently, until he had to bring force to bear? Poor Jack has his hands full... and I think he knows it.

Wah! I think my replies got flopped around a bit....

Hmmm, Gibbs and Sara would be interesting. *evil laugh* Hey, at least they're closer in age than J/E. I'd imagine.

The many layers of the J/E relationship. What fun! Glad you enjoyed the interplay there. Of course she was being foolish, and of course, deep in a place he will not acknowledge, he loves it - irresponsibility and worry aside. I love writing these two. Hee hee. :)

Thanks for all your support and uplifting comments! :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for fixing this! *wipes brow*

--- Thanks much! Nothing like a little vomit to make it a Sparrabeth moment. ;) Ah, twisted love....

"And the mongoose! Love the mongoose :)"
---Yay! Tej will be all over this fic, the more things pick up. And he's totally there for you, dear. Hee hee. He may just have a run-in with Parrot, but don't want to spoil things too much. ;)

I *loved* this chapter! This line in particular:

“And what do you think this Captain would do without you, hmmm? Do you even think that this ship would matter - or my swiving sleep of all things? Come now, Bess, and do me this one favor. Rest that hard head of yours and keep me sister calm. I need you to do this for me.”

just so perfectly illustrates the realtionship you've painted for them in your work, as well as the relationship I think they could have if given half a chance in canon :)

I adored the scene with Lizzie ripping her dress, adored Musical!Jack, and adored the scenes with Lizzie and Sara. It seems they have a little more in common than either one of them would like to admit.

Thanks so much for this! It was a joy to read, as always.

Oh, thank you so much, darlin'! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed this chapter - it's my baby in a way, thanks to all that blood, sweat, and tears.

So, so glad you felt the humor and the little bit of similarity between Sara and Lizzie. I think that there's a bit of Kali - and a bit of Radha - in every woman. Or at least every woman I want to write about.... ;)

--- Sighs. Cannon. If only T&T would let us fanfic writers make the script. Of course, then it would just be a big ol' porno.... On a serious note, I'm so glad that this bit of sweetness worked for you.

Thanks for always reading, and for always leaving such uplifting feedback! Mouwah!

My dear, you are quite right with that one!
And what a lovely world it would be...

"I believe he was vexed,” responded Jack, his eyes darting to Elizabeth... ;-)

“And what do you think this Captain would do without you, hmmm? Do you even think that this ship would matter - or my swiving sleep of all things?" *sigh*

Most lovely, as usual! And it's very Lizzie to be stubborn like that, of course. You write the two of them, and their relationship, so well.
