A couple days ago a friend and former co-worker called me from his job at Microsoft. How would I like to be a project manager for his group? No interview necessary. He works with our former mutual manager who also remembers me and is fine with me coming on board. So do I accept ( Read more... )

The most effective thing I ever did when going from no money to money was to hide the excess money from myself as soon as possible. If I'd lived on the increased salary for any length of time, expenses would have matched income, and I'd be back where I started.

I say this to encourage a plan *before* the first pay check, rather than after. :)
