...the music ...the music community in Seattle ...music group dynamics (i.e. what makes a group good/stable/etc) ...the key features of the group with which you want to work.
Just ask the right questions and listen with your head & heart. You'll make the right decisions.
As long as *they* know...mwetmoreJanuary 24 2005, 19:26:48 UTC
As long as you're honest of what you're capable of, and ask for help as soon as you know you need it... Then they get to share in the responsbility.
Good luck!
A suggestion or two, from my running auditions: Make the audition process as worthwhile as possible - if you're competent to give advice on things to work on, or have resources to refer them to, go for it. Be as specific as you can in feedback - I'd personally far rather know what didn't work - I may be able to fix it in a year or two if this is what I want to do.
Pass on info about other groups in the area that *might* be a good fit if your group isn't, as well as teachers. Help encourage them to sing *someplace* if not necessarily with you.
Knock 'em dead - I'm looking forward to hearing the results.
