Poem: "Relentless"

Title: “Relentless”

They let me be,

Just be

Even if I do nothing

They move me,

Draw me,

Pull me,

Want me.

“Avoid the riptide”

He says.

“No!” I want to scream

But the clash and clamor

Always swallow my awkward words

“No,” I’d yell

“I won’t avoid the hunger.

Waves:

Make me yours!”

They push and shove

Tendrils of turf grab greedily

Dragging me

Willing to hold me always
