He shied away from the hand, glaring into blue eyes. "Don't fucking touch me.' His young voice sounding scared even though he was trying not to.
Watching the other boy closely, he could smell the scorched curtains.
"I'm not gonna hurt you. You have a nightmare? It's ok, I know how it is."
St. John looked at this other boy, skin unmarked with bruises and eyes so clear and he hated him. For not knowing what he'd lived through. For thinking he could touch him. The last man who'd touched John was dead. A charred corpse the only thing left.
