Marishka watched the rain run in rivulets down her window, creating interesting patterns. That was one of the things that she always missed when she was in her room at Hogwarts, no windows to watch the rain from. "I can't believe you haven't slept with her yet," she remarked without looking away from the window. "Get her all those things for Christmas, always around when you've the time and yet..." She looked over her shoulder at where her twin was seated on her bed, drawing something in that sketchpad of his. "You don't even use the gifts she gave you! Really, Rosti, you're the strangest boy at school."

Rostislav did not even look up from his drawing. "Just because you sleep with anyone - or everyone, really - who looks your way twice doesn't mean that the rest of us work that way."

"If you tried it then maybe you'd get why I do," Marishka replied with a grin. "If it's just because she doesn't want to then there are plenty of others. Áina's good, and-"

"You're my sister but if you keep going on about this then I'm going to hurt you," Rostislav told her firmly. "I'm not like you, I respect Magenta and that'd be cheating. I don't think that's the best way to go about winning her heart."

Marishka rolled her eyes and turned back to the window. "You artists, such hopeless romantics. I bet if you just-"

"Stop teasing your brother, Ari," their grandmother remarked from where she was standing in the doorway. "There's nothing wrong with how he's acting. It's exactly right for who he wants and he doesn't have to go sleeping around with other girls." Marishka's mouth twisted in her reflection but she did not turn so that Druella could see. "So don't make fun of him for it just because you can't do it."

Rostislav looked up to smirk at her as Marishka complained, "I'm plenty capable of not sleeping with someone." She crossed her arms across her chest. "Stayed away from the ones I was supposed to after all, didn't I?" At least, she had so far... her grandmother would know if she did later. Unless I kept it from her. Marishka shuddered then, remembering the one time she had done something completely against her grandmother's wishes and realized that she could never be quite that out of her mind. Better options avaliable that don't involve getting hurt for it.

"That's because I told you to," Druella remarked as she came across the room to stand next to her, stroking her hair. Whenever they were home for any sort of break their grandmother liked to be close to them. Especially Rostislav as they got older. Almost as though she thought that he was not going to come back one day. "If I hadn't, then I doubt you would still be able to say that."

Marishka shrugged. "I don't see the problem with any of what I'm saying, but if you two do, well, that's your own thing." She winced when Druella's hand tapped a little too hard on her head. "I'm not going to do anything that'd upset you."

"Only say it," Rostislav muttered as he held up his drawing pad. She had to admit that it was a good picture of her, even if it did look a little too angry. Plus the horns, she most definitely did not have horns coming out of her forehead. "Someday you'll get your tongue under control."

"Probably on the same day you stop drawing," Marishka shot back.

Druella shook her head. "And someday the both of you will shock me and get along when you're not up to something."
