Summary : When a forbidden love is sparked, two girls run away from their doomed death, with the grim reaper right on their trails.
Taking a few steps closer again, Selena shook her head as tears sprung in her eyes. ‘They won’t find out.’
‘T-they can smell you....o-on me...’ Demi murmured, her eyes wide and a whimper escaping her throat. ‘I-I want to....I do...b-but I can’t....’
‘Can’t you just take a shower and wash it off?’ Selena asked quietly, sinking down to sit on the bench as her eyes locked with Demi’s.
Demi bit her lip once again, stepping forward. ‘I-I...I’m going to be queen...’ She whimpered, moving to lay Selena down and look into her eyes. ‘I really want to....oh so want to...’ She whispered, pressing her lips against the other girl’s, holding the girl’s cheek.
‘I want to too,’ Selena whispered, kissing the girl back instantly as she pulled her on top of her, yet kept her hands still on her waist and didn’t let them travel over her body yet.
Demi held onto Selena, pulling away again with her pupiles dialated. ‘W-we have to stop....I-I won’t be able to stop myself...’ Demi mumbled, biting her lip.
‘O-Of b-biting me?’ Selena asked, her eyes widening, yet not pushing the girl off of her.
Demi nodded slowly, biting her lip once again, her fingers trailing over the girl’s cheeks slowly. ‘Y-yes...’
Selena gasped a little before watching Demi intently, looking for any sign of evil. ‘I-I thought... You didn’t drink from.. Humans.’
‘Y-your blood is so intoxicating...and I tasted it....’ Demi murmured, licking her lips once again before getting off of Selena, looking at her fingers and playing with them. ‘I won’t do it as long as we d-don’t kiss again... I’ll be able to control myself if we don’t....’
‘Okay, eh. Yeah, fine by me,’ Selena mumbled, getting up to sit straight on the bench before looking to the pond, watching how the stars reflected in it.
‘Your lying.’ Demi deadpanned, staring blankly at Selena, her arms crossed.
‘Of course I’m lying, I like kissing you!’ Selena responded before blushing at her harsh comment. ‘Sorry, I-I’m being unfair to you..’
‘I-I’m sorry.’ Demi whimpered, biting her lip, sniffling a little. ‘I’m sorry....I shouldn’t have kissed you....I-I....’ Demi pouted. ‘I-I wish I wasn’t a vampire...I....Please don’t be mad....’
‘No, please, don’t cry,’ Selena quickly said, standing up to run to Demi and hug her close as she rested her head on the girl’s shoulder. ‘It’s not who you are underneath, but it’s what you do that defines you.’
Demi whimpered into Selena’s shoulder, letting the few tears escape as she held her close. ‘I-I’m sorry....’
‘Don’t be sorry... Because right now... I wish I was a vampire..’ Selena whispered, kissing Demi’s shoulder before closing her eyes.
Demi stood frozen as she heard Selena’s words, biting her lip before moving her head and kissing the girl’s pulsing neck, letting her tongue draw a circle around it. ‘That’s against the rules.’ Demi muttered, kissing the circle again before stepping away from Selena and walked back to her car. ‘Come on, I have to go home and shower before daddy awakes, and I have to get you home.’
‘They never have to know you bit me,’ Selena muttured, getting in the driver’s seat and starting the car again.
Demi played with her hands, looking out the window as she bit her lip nervously, something she had gotten from her many years of working in hospitals. ‘I will be queen some day, and queens donot break laws. It is simply un-heard of.’
‘Then... I guess I’ll just drive back to the hospital,’ Selena sighed, before driving them to the hospital as she parked the car before getting out. ‘What if I found a way where... You’d have no choice but to turn me into one?’
Demi stared at the hospital, knowing that the girl shouldn’t be there. It could ruin a person if they just kept dreding what happened. Getting out, Demi walked to Selena’s sides before pinning the girl to the car, scowling darkly at her. ‘You will do no such thing, I told you this is a curse, and it is my curse, I will no have my only friend killed because I wanted her to be a vampire. I’m already putting you at risk for talking to you, my father has no tolerance for vampires loving humans, or interacting with them, so get in the car and tell me where you live. Dreading your mother’s death will not help!’ Demi growled, picking the girl up and putting her in the passanger seat, locking it with the child proof lock before getting in the drivers seat with shakey hands.
‘What if I won’t tell you?’ Selena hissed, crossing her arms over her chest as she just stared out of the front window.
‘Do you want to die?!’ Demi screamed, hitting the steering wheel as she let an angry growl escape her lips.
‘Yes,’ Selena answered staring into Demi’s eyes.
Demi scowled at Selena, her heart tugging everywhich way because she knew that this....this wasn’t a lie. ‘Damn it Selena!’ She growled, hitting the wheel again before she looked to Selena. ‘Suck it up! Your mother died happily because she knew that you were ok! and now you want to throw that away?!’ Demi screamed, leaning towards the girl and grabbing her neck with her hand. ‘They’ll kill you...and me if they ever find out that I’m just talking to you....and I am not letting you die, so tell me where you live, now!’
‘I will also be okay when I’m a vampire,’ Selena muttured, gasping for air as she felt the hand around her throat before staring deeply in the other’s brown orbs. ‘I’m not afraid of you.’
‘I’m not talking about death as in turning into a vampire. They’ll snap you neck like a twig, you wanna know why my hands shook when I came back eariler today?! Because I had to kill her, and innocent woman!’ Demi growled, pulling Selena closer only to shove her back into the window, being firm but careful. ‘You should be afraid. I’m going to ask you one more time. Where do you live?!’
‘Second street to the left, fourth house to the right,’ Selena explained with a big sighed before leaning her head closer to Demi’s. ‘I’m still not afraid of you.’
Demi nodded before moving away from Selena, scowling as she started up the car and drove towards the explained house. ‘You should be.’ Demi hissed, her grip on the steering wheel tightening as she drove.
‘I’m sorry,’ Selena mumbled as soon as they were at her house before opening the door. ‘I’ll leave you to it. If it gets you in trouble, don’t come to find me.’ With that she closed the door before walking into her house and locking the door as she leaned her back against it before shrinking to the floor.
Demi let out a fustrated growl before driving away, trying to think of either a lie or something to get the smell of a human out of the car. Getting back home, Demi ignored the sweet smell of Selena that lined her body and clothing, not to mention the car as she snuck back into her room. Taking a quick shower, and throwing her clothes out, Demi snuggled into her bed, wishing that Selena’s sweet scent would still linger around her nose.
Luke was pouring himself a cup of coffee, typing something on his cell phone as he patiently waited for his daughter to wake up.
Demi quickly ran down the stars, sitting next to her father with a bright smile. ‘Good morning daddy!’
‘Good morning, sleep well?’ The taller man asked, taking a sip from his coffee before reading his paper.
‘Yes, you?’ She asked politely, still smiling ever so brightly with her fangs as she watched him.
‘Yes. I only hope you didn’t show those to the human last night,’ Luke said, not actually looking up from his newspaper.
Demi’s smile faltered when the man spoke, frowning alittle as she looked to her fingers. ‘You know about the car?’
‘The smell is kind of hard to miss,’ Luke answered, pointing to his cell phone as he put his paper away. ‘I went to grab my cellphone.’
Demi bit her lip nervously, still staring at her fingers as she pinched one of them between two other’s. ‘I’m sorry daddy....I just...’
Luke raised his eyebrows as he crossed his arms, waiting for an explanation from his daughter.
"Their so...interesting....I just wanted to study them more...in their night life...I'm sorry daddy, I know it's forbidden...and I swear I didn't show anyone my fangs..." Demi closed her eyes tightly, trying to not let out a sniffle of fear. "I-if you have to...I'll go into the fire for you daddy..."
'Because you've been so honest, I'll let it slide,' Luke answered, yet pointing his finger to his daughter. 'But you better not fall in love with him.' With that, he took his coffee and went up the stairs to get ready for his shift.
Demi nodded slowly, smiling at her father. "I won't daddy, he's not my type...and falling in love with a human is....disgusting." Demi scrunched up her nose, happy that she was the only one with the lying technique. Getting up, she ran to her room, sitting by the window and smiling ever so happily.
When Luke went up to the bedroom, he walked to Demi, mumbling, "We have to stop at the kingdom first," before stalking to his SUV and starting it.
‘Why daddy?’ Demi asked, suddenly fearful as she walked after him. ‘I-I thought you said...’
‘Not because of you, honey, they found another human,’ Luke explained, driving up the mountain again before opening the cave to the kingdom where they were immediately greeted by Mike.
‘My King,’ he said as he bowed before bowing to Demi. ‘Princess.’
Demi bit her lip once again, looking out the window as they drove. Smiling at Mike, she nodded to the man before turning to her father, waiting to find out what was going on.
‘May I present...’ Mike said, standing on the big balcony. ‘King Luke and his daughter, Demi!’ All the vampires bowed, before immediately bringing the human forward as Luke walked out on the balcony. ‘She was hiking the mountain and accidentally found the cave.’
Demi nodded to her fellow vampires, smiling brightly before seeing the human. ‘D-daddy, do we have to kill her?’ She whispered for only his ears, turning back to stare at the woman.
‘No, but tell me if she’s lying,’ Luke asnwered, before turning to the big crowd as he jumped down and walked towards the woman, pulling the bag off of her head and crouching down in front of her, hiding his fangs. ‘Tell me, did one of us tell you about us?’
Demi nodded and followed her father, staring at the terrified woman. She shook her head no, and Demi nodded. ‘Truth.’
‘And you swear it was an accident?’ Luke asked, standing back up as he looked down at the woman.
The woman nodded once again, her chin trembling fearfully. ‘Truth daddy.’
‘Then we can’t kill you, but we can’t let you live as a human either,’ Luke sighed before turning to his daughter. ‘You know why all the people I bit didn’t become a vampire?’
Demi tilted her head at her father, watching the woman widen her eyes at the word vampire. ‘No daddy, I don’t. I’ve never thought about it.’
‘That’s because you can only turn a human into a vampire by biting on one particular spot. I’m going to teach you now, because it’s time that you learn it,’ Luke explained, walking circles around the woman.
Demi nodded, walking closer so she could get a better look, yet pausing. ‘Can I tell her something, daddy? To calm her fears? I can feel her heart beat...’
‘Of course, being turned into a vampire shouldn’t be a fearful process,’ Luke said, stopping with pacing as he watched his daughter.
Demi nodded to her father before looking to the woman, smiling at her ever so softly. ‘What’s your name?’
The woman fought against her trembling chin, biting her lip like Demi always had done before speaking. ‘Dallas.’
‘Dallas, theres nothing to fear....’ Demi smiled, knowing that smiles calmed the girl. ‘We will just become a big family, together in all of this...’
‘Okay!’ Luke exclaimed, clapping his hands together. ‘On to the lesson. First of all, crouch down in front of her and remove her hair from her neck.’
Demi nodded to the man, crouching in front of Dallas and brushing her hair away. ‘It’ll be ok...’ She whispered, smiling before she looked up at her father for the next step.
‘Now, you have to kiss her neck to find the pulse point and only bite the pulse point and nothing else,’ Luke explained, walking closer to his daughter. ‘When you found it, suck exactly four times, but remember. If you miss the pulse point... she dies.’
Nodding again, Demi leaned towards the girl, kissing at her neck before she found the pulse point. Smiling, she released her fangs, biting into the girl and sucking four times. Pulling away, she licked at her lips before looking at her father to see if she did an ok job.
‘Wait for it,’ Luke said, watching the woman fall to the ground as she closed her eyes before she turned to a twentier and her eyes shot open again. ‘Nice job, heal the wound, I don’t want any vampires with scars.’
Demi nodded, kissing the bleeding wound before pulling away from the girl, standing besides her father. Running her thumb over her bottom lip, she sucked the blood off before looking at the man besides her.
‘You should go drink some blood of the old man, it’ll give you even more strenght,’ Luke smiled, patting his daughter back before jumping on the balcony.
Demi nodded to her father, waiting for one of the other vampires to bring her a glass. Sipping it, she nearly gaged at its taste, yet held it together and smiled once she was finished. ‘Thank you.’ She smiled, nodding before following after her father, giving him a wide toothy smile.
Demi nodded to the rest of the vampires, walking back to the car and getting back in, taking in a deep breath of Selena’s scent before she turned to her father. ‘So that woman...isn’t that against the laws, daddy?’
‘No because no one told her and she didn’t follow one of us to get to the cave. It was an accident,’ Luke explained, driving to the hospital before getting out and throwing his daughter the keys. ‘Your shift ends early again, so drive home when you’re done. I’ll walk.’
‘But she’s suppose to be pure.’ Demi mumbled, retracting her fangs as she pocketed the keys and followed him inside.
‘She’ll get pure in four days because the venom from your fangs will mix with her blood,’ Luke whispered, walking through the hall up to the dressing room.
Demi nodded to the man, smiling a little before walking around the hospital, destined on one room. Getting there, Demi frowned when an old man stared back at her, leaving no Selena in the room. Pouting, she walked away, wondering where on earth the girl had been.
Once she had made sure her father was asleep, Demi snuck out of her room, taking the car and driving towards Selena’s house. She ignored the door for a moment, jumping through the girl’s window to find no one there, frowning she went back to the car, biting her lip. ‘Where are you?’ She whispered, thinking about the pond and driving there.
Selena was just lying in the grass, staring up at the stars as she heard a car pulling up not too far away from her. ‘I thought I told you not to come look for me,’ she mumbled, not taking her eyes away from the sky.
Demi rolled her eyes at Selena, sitting behind her head and running her fingers through the girl’s hair. ‘Didn’t your stories ever tell you that vampires don’t listen?’
‘You said not to believe them,’ Selena answered, pulling away as she felt the girl’s hand in her hair. ‘What are you doing?’
‘And you choose now to believe me?’ Demi chuckled, pouting a little when Selena pulled away. Looking to her hands, she played with her ring finger nervously. ‘I needed to see you...t-to touch you...make it not seem like a dream...or rather with the way we ended last night it was like a nightmare.’
‘What is this?’ Selena asked, using her hands to motion between them before jumping up. ‘Do you really think you can keep pulling me towards you only to push me back away?’
Demi frowned at her question, scrambling to stand and look into her eyes. ‘I only want to protect you...I can’t let you get hurt...that would kill me. I don’t understand what makes me all warm, or why I couldn’t stop thinking about you all day, but I like it...and I need you...but needing you is putting you in danger and I’m so confused at to what to do....’ Demi explained, her eyes never moving from Selenas, her’s getting misty with guilt and fear.
‘That’s still no reason to push me away so far! Look, Demi, I like you. A lot. But everytime you pull me close to you... You push me away again and.. It hurts. And I’m done with that.’
Demi flinched, stepping back with tears in her eyes. ‘I’m sorry...’ Demi whispered, looking to the ground before lifting her head again. ‘I-I know how to turn you...a-and I will...if you want me to...just please....d-don’t leave me...Y-you’re my only friend....’
Selena sighed and shook her head as she reached out to cup Demi’s cheek before wipping a tear away with her thumb. ‘Don’t cry,’ she whispered, hugging the girl close. ‘Will it get you in trouble? Changing me, I mean..’
Demi warmed into the contact, moving her hand to place it over Selena’s to keep it there. ‘D-don’t leave me...’ She repeated, sniffling before feeling the hug and holding the girl tightly. ‘I-I don’t care about trouble...I-I need you...’
‘Do it...’ Selena whispered, kissing the girl’s shoulder as she closed her eyes.
Demi hesitated, pulling back to stare into Selena’s eyes. ‘First, I want you to spend the night doing anything you want, ok? Second....’ Demi smiled softly, a tinge of pink crossing her cheeks before she looking up to the stars. ‘Do you love me?’
‘To answer to your first question, I just like to lay in the grass and watch the stars. To answer your second question...’ Selena’s voice turned into a whisper, knowing that Demi could tell she was lying or not so she thought it was better to just tell the truth. ‘Yes...’
Demi smiled happily, crashing her lips with Selena’s only to pull away as her fangs came down. ‘Sorry, I forgot that we can’t...’ Demi blushed softly, looking up to the night sky and smiling contently. ‘Tonight, however, I can’t take you home in my car. My dad will smell vampire and we might get caught.’ Chuckling, Demi shook her head. She was breaking all the rules for this girl.
Selena nodded before tugging the girl down to the grass as she laid down again to watch the stars. ‘I just feel so at peace as I watch them.’
Demi smiled, laying her head next to Selena’s and staring up at the lovely sky. ‘Like nature?’ Demi asked softly, watching with interest. ‘I had to change a girl today....and her blood was disgusting, I nearly threw up....then I had to drink a cup of blood...’ Demi frowned, pressing her face into Selena’s neck and breathing it in. ‘I hate hurting humans.’
‘Then why were you turned into a vampire?’ Selena asked, kissing the top of Demi’s head as she threw her right arm around her waist. ‘And what does blood taste like?’
‘I was born one.’ Demi mumbled, breathing in Selena’s scent before licking her neck tentivly. ‘Yours....yours tastes the best...I don’t know how to explain it...but it’s thick and nothing like water or milk....’ Demi frowned, kissing Selena’s pulse point before nuzzling into her.
‘I guess I’ll just have to taste blood when I become one,’ Selena chuckled, closing her eyes as she just enjoyed the feeling. She never would’ve thought she would fall in love with a vampire. A female one no less. ‘You say you’ll be queen... How old are you?’
Demi nodded, kissing the girls neck once again before hearing her question. ‘Promise not to get freaked out?’
‘I promise,’ Selena smiled before looking down to her eyes. ‘You look twenty so it doesn’t matter how old you are, you’re still beautiful.’
‘Fourty five.’ Demi flushed, pressing a kiss to Selena’s nose and smiling.
‘So you’re saying I’m dating a girl that’s twenty eight years older?’ Selena fake gasped before turning serious as a blush crept onto her cheeks. ‘We are... dating.. right?’
‘Dating?’ Demi asked softly, rolling over to lay ontop of Selena, smiling down at her. ‘You said you loved me, so you are forever mine.’ Demi giggled, pressing another kiss to the girl’s cheek before sighing and rolling off of her.
'Then turn me,' Selena whispered, turning to her side to rest her head against Demi's chest, listening to her steady heart beat.
