Title: Myths and Fables
Pairing: Inati/Youngwon
Rating: G
Summary: The book in question is a children's book about dalmatians that some fans had given him the week before.
A/N: I love Youngnati with all my heart, everyone should ship it with me. Though this is probably more friendship-y than anything else. I thought of this after thinking about how Youngwon doesn't have a father, but this isn't angsty~.

So Daniel always knew Youngwon was strange, but this is a bit much. The boy, with his newly cut and dyed brown hair, is standing in front of him and staring at him expectantly, but Daniel is at a loss for what to do.

"Please, Daniel?" He asks, pouting cutely. "Please read this for me?"

The book in question is a children's book about dalmatians that some fans had given him the week before. They had all laughed when they saw it, and Daniel had expected Youngwon to put it on their bookshelf and never touch it again. But here he is, presenting the book to him with hopeful eyes and asking him to read it. Daniel is unsure what the boy is up to, but he isn't sure he wants to know.

"I'm busy," he eventually replies, busy texting Amber about the latest idol gossip. "Why don't you read it yourself?"

Youngwon face falls slightly but he quickly smiles to hide it and skips out of the room. Daniel watches him with furrowed brows before texting, Can I come join f(x)?

The reply comes almost immediately; Only if you bring your own heels.

He goes to Jeesu next, finding him playing on the keyboard that seems to be permanently attached to his fingers. Headphones are over the singer's ears, so Youngwon taps him on the back. Jeesu jumps in surprise but gives him a radiant smile when he sees who it is.

"What's up Dongrim-shi?" He asks kindly, always so patient with the younger boy.

"Um… Jeesu-ah… can you read this book for me?" Youngwon asks hesitantly, already insecure due to his previous rejection.

"Is it in English? David or Daniel would be more help than me," he suggests.

"N-No," Youngwon holds out the book in question. "It's this."

Jeesu chuckles and pats Youngwon's head. "You're funny," is all he says and Youngwon already knows he's been rejected.

Youngwon skims through his phone, highlighting the name "Lee Dari" and contemplating it for a moment. He selects the contact and sees Dari's picture come up, his smiling face beaming back at Youngwon's solemn one. He hovers over the call button for a brief moment before remembering that his hyung is busy right now, and has no time for childish things.

Youngwon thinks that David might be his best shot, since the older man has such a soft spot for him. He catches up with the man during a break in one of his work out sessions, hiding the book behind his back.

"Hyung-nim," Youngwon starts politely. "Can I ask you something?"

"You just did," David responds sarcastically, already moving towards the dumbells on the other side of the room.

"Hyung," Youngwon whines. "Can you just… do me a favor?"

"Dongrim-shi, hyung is busy," he says impatiently. "Just ask someone else."

Youngwon pouts, but understands David's frustration. The man had injured his hand, making it hard for him to do anything and also making him extremely irritable. Youngwon tries to tell him that he already asked the others, but David has already moved away from him. Youngwon blinks back angry tears and heads back to their dorm, hugging his book to his chest.

Youngwon considers giving up after having been rejected so many times, but figures that Inati is his last chance and he may as well give him a try. The boy goes into Inati's room, finding the man reading on his bed and already his mood is brightened-if he's already reading, maybe he won't mind switching books!

"Hyung," Youngwon says quietly, Inati jumping in surprise at the sound of his voice.

"Oh, hi Dongrim!" Inati says cheerfully, carefully folding the corner of his book and putting it on his nightstand. Youngwon wonders why he didn't go to Inati first, the man is always so attentive and loving towards the other members even when he doesn't always get the same kind of respect in return.

"Can you…," Youngwon begins, bringing the book out from behind his back. Inati glances at the book, chuckling slightly at the title. He is about to make a joke before he locks eyes with Youngwon and what he sees there makes him stop. There is pure, unadulterated hope shining in Youngwon's eyes, and all at once Inati realizes how much this means to the boy.

Inati wordlessly takes the book from Youngwon's hands and pats the space on the bed next to him, smiling gently at him. Youngwon seems to light up from head to toe and he quickly crawls into the bed and settles under Inati's arm. Inati proceeds to read him the book, making sure to point out all the pictures along the way, before he notices that Youngwon has fallen asleep before he even got to finish.

He smiles down at the boy who looks so young and innocent, more so than usual, while sleeping. Inati is still vaguely confused why Youngwon requested this of him, but realizes that there are some things he will never understand about his members.

Meanwhile, Youngwon dreams of litters of dalmatian puppies and a father figure he never had.
