Title: Ridiculous
Word Count: 1000
Warnings: Murder
Author's Notes: This was written for the December mini-contest at brigits_flame, using the Waterhouse painting below as the prompt. I was so entertained by this! It was like reading a book as written by Robert Altman. I was delighted! I knew I was in for a treat when I read the words: "It's hard to tell, with women." What a ball! This was imaginative and fun. It is always amazing to me how people come up with such different stories for the same prompt, and you are a great illustration of just that. This was marvelous. Great job, I loved the whole thing!

Thank you!

He doesn't really know why he killed her. If you asked, he'd deny it every happened, and then when confronted with evidence claim she'd been bewitched by the painting and was going to kill him for his skull. But that's really a guess on his part; he didn't stop to think about it during the process and he doesn't really see it as killing, because she was something of a possession to him. One of the creepier characters I've created, I must admit.

Wow. This is really well done - very chilling, but only at the end. It's so normal in the beginning.

The only thing I have to suggest is the way you do dialogue - sometimes it's confusing to find out who's talking, because you put an action of another beside their speech. As in:
"Speech of speaker 1," Speaker 2 does something. "Speaker 1 says something again."

Still, well done!

Thank you!

And yeah, that tendency came through all the more strongly here because of the word limit. Thanks for reminding me, though. :)
